Honestly she wasnât sure what she was expecting when coming there. Maybe that he was still out of it, too drugged to know that she was visiting. That was not the case, however. Instead he seemed to be joking about his current predicament.
Annoyance flared, but Winter remembered that he didnât know what was going on. He didnât know all that already happened. She wasnât even certain she could tell him without bringing more trouble onto herself. Reaching for his hand, she wasnât sure if it was for his comfort or hers.
âI was across the hall,â she gestured toward the large window that looked into the room she occupied until recently. The armor keeping her upright feeling even heavier knowing what happened in the hall not long ago.Â
âWhat happened?â He didnât know what was going on in Atlas, but she didnât know what exactly happened to him. What caused this? The only information was that this was Qrowâs fault, but was that true?
Of course sheâd want to know what happened. But...surely Qrow could have told her? âDidnât Qrow tell you?â he asked, his voice slow and deliberate. Every word felt like an effort, but for her, heâd work through it.
âAfter the arrest order for Qrow and Robyn...things got chaotic pretty quick. Tyrian took advantage of the situation and crashed our ship. Robyn got knocked out and it devolved into a fight between Qrow, Tyrian and I. I managed to disarm Qrow, but while I was busy with him, I wasnât watching my back and...well...â he paused, âIâm sure you know the rest.â
His wound still hurt, more than just physically. It stung with the knowledge that Qrow hadnât seen reason. Then again, Clover supposed he wasnât entirely blameless. If they hadnât been so focused on fighting each other, they could have brought Callows in and sorted things out with the General.
âWhat...did I miss?â
