not to watch him directly, he says. how stupid does he think he is? not stupid enough, he's sure — they both know the truth, locked deadpan 'gainst infuriating smile. he moves to cleaning a new glass and scoffs.

"well, it would be the knights fault, now wouldn't it? maybe if you were better at your job, the people around town wouldn't have to make up superheroes to feel safer in their own home." he may not be scowling outwardly, but the venom makes it into his voice, regardless. "you're getting outdone by someone they're calling the darknight hero? what a stupid name."
