It's been awhile // Taylor, Mackenzie
“Where do you work? I love my current job, but it’s nothing to brag about. Nothing special yet, what about you?” Once inside his pacing heart began to slow to a steady beat. Within a few steps he found a place to sit. With his hands in his pocket he looked up to the other, “So how has life been treating you?”
“Um, i’ve been working at a model agency just a few block away from here,” she replied, “where are you working at now? If you don’t mind me asking. Oh and i’ve been pretty well and normal as usual as well,” she laughed a little as she head towards the kitchen to take the ice cream and cookies out. “Um, pretty well i guess. Just the normal routine of going to work and back here again” she laughs, “and yours?”. She set the ice cream and cookies down on the table and took a seat next to Taylor. By then, she wasn’t feeling as nervous as she was before already.Â

Seeing Mackenzie Taylor forgot how to talk , words filled his mind but nothing came out. After what felt like minutes he finally mustered out a weak “Hi”, running his hands against the back of his neck nervously with a coy grin. Trying not to be awkward he broke his silence, ““It’s been forever, it’s really nice to see you again. How have you been?”. Taylor’s heart still raced but at least he wasn’t sweaty , or at least sweaty yet “Can I come in?” He asked gesturing towards her house.
“Oh right, c-come on in first,” she said as she stepped aside and invited him in. She could feel her palms getting sweaty and she tried to wiped them dry on her jeans. “It’s really nice to see you again too,” she whispered oh-so-softly, “pretty well, just busy with my job and stuff, the usual. Nothing much. but what about you? How have you been? Anything special yet?” she asked curiously.

I played a small show earlier tonight, and I told my audience that I wrote a new song that I wanted to play exclusively for them.  I made up the absolute worse song that I could possibly sing on the spot and I slowly watched their facial expressions turn from joy to  pure terror.  As I walked out of the venue I realized that I forgot to tell them that it was an April fools joke.  Guess who’s going to see a vast decline in fans?  This girl!

nope, not at all. my gut feeling is telling me that i will regret it if i try that.
So, that trip to Seattle got a number one spot in the list of the worst trips ever. When my mom called me, I knew something was up just because of the fact that she called me, but I never expected something like that.Â

As he stood at her door his heart began to pound a beat faster and he debated turning around and walking away as if he had never replied at all. Taking a step back he knocked on the door,  and let out a breath of relief.  Taylor tried to imagine that when she opened the door  maybe things would be back to normal, but then struggled to remember what was normal for them
Mackenzie jumped at the sound of the knock. She got flustered for awhile before heading towards the door. She took and deep breath and opened the door. She exhaled and smiled embarrassedly at the guy standing in front of her. “Hi,” she said softly, “it’s been a while, hasn’t it?” and she smiled warmly. Not forgetting how fast her heart was beating.

When Taylor saw Kenzie’s tweet there was an urge inside of him to reply. He had saw her around but it had been a while since they had actually had a real conversation. Part of him was longing to talk to her again and in general it had been a while since he had the chance to chill with someone. Soon enough he found himself as Kenzie’s door with a smug grin on his face.
Needless to say, Mackenzie was pretty surprise to see a familiar face here. She thought she was able to let everything go and start all over but she was so wrong. Getting a reply from Taylor was the last thing she ever thought about. After she left him a few years ago without a word, she thought he has totally forgotten about her existence. She got to admit that she was nervous about their meeting, which was after such a long while. She anxiously paced up and down her front door, waiting for her door bell to ring.
One of my teachers in high school played this funny prank on us. His wife recently gave birth and he asked us if we wanted to see the baby and we said yes so he pulled up a picture of a baby on the projector and the class was like half silent and half “…Awww how cute” because the baby was actually so frickin’ ugly. And then a few minutes later he was like “You guys are too nice. That’s not my baby, that’s what google images gave me when I googled ugly baby. This is my baby” and then he pulled up a picture of his actual baby and she was actually really cute. How’s your April Fool’s Day going?
That might have been a little cruel. I can’t imagine the awkwardness that might come after that. Well as for mine, it went like a really normal day. I was stuck at home alone so no pranks, nothing. Boohoo. There goes my April Fools’.
“Thank you! But yeah…Fashion and all things involved with it is my niche. For sure! I’ll have you looking better than you could ever imagine. Annnd I also make the fashions inexpensive so it’s good for everyone.” Iris followed in and quickly entered the elevator. “Me too, who knows we can have a mini sleepover tonight as in a celebration for me moving in. Have a glass of wine or something.”
“I’m definitely taking your advices from now,” she grinned and turned to face her, “it may help me save a lot of money at the same time. And a sleepover is an extremely excellent idea! I’m definitely up for that. I’ll even bring some snacks over from my apartment later on too! This already sounds so exciting!”

I grew up in Cali my parent split up when I was younger and my mom moved away. In high school i met Jersey, we dated for a few months in my senior year and I got into Stanford on full scholarship and we broke up. , I lost my scholarship. Moved to Florida to live with my mom a little and then decided I needed to come back here.
So you’re living alone or with or dad? and you mean the Jersey who is living here too? wow, talk about awkwardness.
