Weird pretty much sums him up recently. I think someone else would be better. I’m beginning to realize my opinion or feelings don’t matter as much to him as I thought they did. Plus, I don’t even know if it’s my place to reach out to his girlfriend.

I actually thought about this after that class. I probably should have just been like “Girls, I know society tells you that older guys are better than the ones your own age that they’re more mature or whatever but the truth is a guy is gonna be a dick if he’s a dick no matter if he’s 18, 28, or 38. I’m flattered but also a little uncomfortable and I just wanna pay attention to the class.”

That’s actually... an amazing way to let someone down. Did you use it on them?

Avi had gotten in earlier than usual, but it had been a long day and she had been more tired recently. She was half curled up on the sofa, flicking through her netflix aimlessly, trying to find something that she could almost fall asleep to on the couch. Well, by that she meant, fall asleep to and wake up in the middle of the night vaguely confused before heading to bed instead. The sound of a storm outside drew her attention vaguely away from the window, causing the blonde to raise an eyebrow at the proceedings. Not that she minded stories much, but well she wasn’t the biggest fan of them either.

Fawn honestly felt terrible calling Avi. It was so late, it was some sort of miracle that the lady wasn’t asleep. But fear had taken over Fawn’s sense of rationality and had her hardwired to find someone to keep the demons lurking in the shadows away. Plus, as much as it made Fawn embarrassed to admit it, she didn’t feel safe in her home without the alarm activated. Even with the tempest raging just outside her window, Fawn was itching to jump through that storm to make it to somewhere with light.

Yeah, people do cope way differently and sometimes in unorthodox ways. I hope things work out for you and your family works things out. You really can’t grieve unless you let yourself feel it. It’s not something you can constantly distract and run from. 

Well I’m far from Puerto Rico and Oregon where the Cruzón clan are, so hopefully none of them have followed me home.

That sounds like a good idea. I might just look up ideas online.

Worse comes to worst, pull a Mean Girls. Wear lingerie and some animal ears or something.

I keep them at the studio now, and no it’s not scary at all.

No no! I must sound so melodramatic. I just mean that I need to have something in my life other than work, because work is no longer as satisfying as it used to be! ... They allow volunteers at the hospital, right?

I’m so sorry to hear that, that’s so inconsiderate. Have you talked to them? I bet it’s frustrating. You’re working for a stranger?

I guess it’s kind of how they coped with their grief. I saw glimpses of it. They tried to ignore the fact she was gone by focusing on some smaller detail of it - like her things. She was a real matriarch. I’m as good as a gringa to half of them. They don’t listen to me unless I’m on their side. Axel feels like a stranger these days.
