Benedikta, on the other hand, was betrayed by his own kin again and again. First she was sold by her own family, second she was abused by her master, third she was left behind by Cidolfus. Those ended up making her side with someone who could give her control although fleeting and fake, Barnabas. Why? Because it's only with him that she could wield power at ease. No helplessness. She wasn't given a chance to see another perspective of humanity because she was constantly being shoved by the harsh truth of how she could be easily thrown away. If you also consider her connection with her troops or even Barnabas, for me at least, those are more "professional" or "I'm here because it's my job" type. As simple as it is because when you see Garuda taken away from her, she feared that she would be replaced, she didn't even consider talking about this problem to find a solution or to ease her worry. Both Benedikta and Jill are similar, but they're also tragically different.
