You're right that they didn't kill anyone, but they did injure multiple people, showing they're willing to. So again, are we just ignoring them attacking US and US allied ships?

yeah dude, those US allied ships are there to enforce a potentially legally recognized genocide. if we don’t back off we are tacitly admitting to participation in an ongoing holocaust, from a legal standpoint, and from a moral standpoint, well, we drew first blood and they’ve yet to draw any. they have the upper hand in every single fathomable way, even in scripture. this is a clean loss to give up now, and an unfathomably bloody struggle from now until eternity to push through.
