Giving up SlimFast (Like right now)
So, for the past 3 weeks I have been ingesting at least one slim fast shake per day, usually 2, and on Saturday daytime I thought right Caz! Time to stick to it rigidly, no extraĀ āhealthyā snacks for you! Bigger commitment needed! And even though iād previously saidĀ āwhen this tin is empty, iām quitting SF On Saturday: bigger commitment - Bought 2 new tins of the powder!Ā
And then Saturday night came. My good friend Matt, who has heard me say on many occasionĀ āi know, i must do something about my weightā (usually while eating something which is calorific!) And knowing my weekly hours of exercise as zilcharoo! Matt, being happy of my recent turn around decided to cook me a delicious meal, all made from scratch and containing not 1g of sugar! AND we had chocolate brownie for dessert! Which was both sugarless and vegan!Ā
The meal was sooooooooo nice! Salmon and Butternut Squash Curry! It was āYumsville, Arizonaā, at the end of the night I thanked him with sex. JK he is gay, otherwise he would. LOL (thats my story and iām sticking to it! It MY blog!!)
Anyway, on Sunday I carried on as normal, had my morning slim fast shake, continued... All afternoon sugar was just on my mind, and then I was browsing the internet and looking atĀ āfull body workoutsā, and became more focused on using your workout time more effectively in order to burn fat! Which is my primary need! (OK after stopping smoking, but this is about my fatness right now!) So I was watching this presentation by a guy called Shin Ohtake (me right now) heās got a workout program calledĀ āMax Workoutsā (full body functional exercises)Ā
In Shinās presentation he mentioned how sickened he is about big companies who shamelessly invent diet products that donāt work but to just make money... Which I kinda already knew, and in SlimFastās defence, I was at a total loss 3 weeks ago, and I did meal replacements just because I had no desire to make anything or think of anything, so I put my diet in SFās hands, and at least here I am, in my fourth week AND STILL GIVING A SHIT *fireworks* So āSFā served itās purpose.Ā
So yesterday, my afternoon shake was harder to swallow, especially since, for the first time in over 3 weeks, I actually checked the sugar content. 30g!! Per serving!! WTF! I know āSlim Fastā has all those vitamins in it but, so does a bloody MULTI-VIT capsule and iām pretty sure they have no calories or sugar in them!? And Mattās words ran through my mind that that momentĀ āyou donāt actually need sugar, at all!ā I forced it down!
Fast forward to this morning, I came down to make my shake, and no hassle, no drama, I simply couldnāt bring myself to make a shake. Like while I was sleeping the decision was made for me, and I was being told after the fact.Ā
Is this what they call listening to your body? Well I have...So, I thought Iād come write about it...And now my job is done.
