cobalt eyes narrow, chin tipping up in defiance at bucky. ‘ TERRORIST ’  &  ‘ TRAGIC ’ seemed to be factors that described them both. though the words left a bitter mark in his conscience.

It’s good to be back

       steve knew just how a demand to rest could make one restless. he wasn’t a fan of sitting still and doing nothing either, but he’d be damned if he let pietro worsen his injuries under his watch. besides, having a bit of time where they weren’t expected to be training or saving the world was kind of nice. 

       “i’ll get you jello, then. i told you; whatever you need you just need to ask —— you’re not even supposed to be out of bed, let alone up and about trying to make jello, jesus.” 

THE CONDITION TO stay in bed was less of a vacation, & more of a punishment. sitting in a bed & studying the ceiling was a torture he hadn’t faced until this moment. he could only be thankful that the walls weren’t glass, like at hydra. a specimen being oogled & proded ceaselessly. this was better, though he still hadn’t the freedom to move around. he felt like a gerbil, one cage to another. 

        ❛   ―  no. not escape. my legs are stiff. if i stay more still, i will get paralyzed.
