{out of breath} Due to waning muse and a hectic work/personal life, I have to scale back the time I am spending here on this site. I've had so much fun writing Pietro, but he's been very quiet lately, so I'm putting him on hiatus for the foreseeable future to free up time for some involved work projects that will be starting soon. This blog will probably be on hiatus until at least well into the fall season, if not the end of the year, but if anything changes, I will post here to let everyone know.
I imagine someday I'll be back, I just don't know when. Obviously, there won't be any knew content for Pietro in the MCU to spark my muse for him (or maybe there will be?? who even knows with all the multiversal shenanigans going on?? XD), but there are a few movies with Pietro's FC that I want to watch. Likely, once I do that, and after these new projects for work are completed by the end of the year, I will be feeling the itch to write him again. Until then, I won't be posting anything new here.
Thank you to everyone who has written Pietro with me over the past five years, and thanks for embracing my interpretation of him! I appreciate each and every one of you, and I'll definitely miss writing here with you all! Goodbye for now! =)
Rocket had been watching Pietro for a while now, his arms crossed over his chest. The unsuspecting speedster was eating a snack, and the furry Guardian forced out a sigh.
"Y'know," Rocket said, "you're not so bad."
Pietro had thought he was alone, packing in a late-night snack so he didn't go to bed hungry. He wasn't ashamed to eat in front of everyone else, not anymore, but... he was perhaps not as careful or elegant about eating when he thought he was alone. So when he suddenly heard a sigh from behind him, Rocket got a nice view of a chubby-cheeker speedster as Pietro turned and froze in mid-chew, caught red-handed... and full-mouthed.
What Rocket said was... unexpected, but awesome. He knew that if he made a big deal about it, though, Rocket would get annoyed and trudge off with some snarky comment. Which was okay, that's just how he was, but... Pietro knew how to play it cool. Slowly he began to chew again, taking his time to finish and swallow before answer.
"Yeah... yeah, you know..." he said, nodding, "...you're not so bad either, now that I think about it," he said in return. The sentiment was there, but delivered casually, as if he was discussing the weather. Nothing too emotional or schmaltzy to make Rocket uncomfortable. Without skipping a beat, Pietro then gestured to the plate in front of him. "I made nachos, you want some? They're extra cheesy."
Mantis knew Pietro was having trouble sleeping once again. He was looking out one of the windows of the ship, admiring a blue interstellar cloud. The empath smiled and sat next to him.
"It matches your t-shirt!"
A smile was plastered across Pietro's face the moment Mantis plopped down beside him. She always made him smile, especially when he was too much inside his own head for his own good. At her comment, he saw the interstellar cloud he'd been mindlessly looking at in a new light, looking between it and his shirt. "Hey... Hey, you're right!" he said. It really was the exact shade of blue.
Pietro looked around playfully for the chance to return the favor and bring a smile to her face next. Seeing Mr. Dibbles rolling by on his skateboard, Pietro bent over and scooped him up. "And he matches your outfit!" he exclaimed, holding Mr. Dibbles up to Mantis' vest, which was a similar shade of green to his shell.
There was a little more pep in her step as they made their way over to the kitchen. Once there, Mantis shook her head, hands rose in the air dismissively, but she couldn't fight back the playful smile that bloomed upon her face.
"I do not bake expecting payback, Pietro. I bake because it's fun, it helps me relax, unwind, and it makes my friends very happy!" A thoughtful pause followed, a gentle hum rising from her throat. "But I would like to try whatever it is you are interested in baking! However, I believe Mr. Dibbles should have first dibs rights, do you not agree?"
Mantis had only heard Pietro say that once, but she liked taking words or expressions from her fellow Guardians and incorporating them into her vocabulary.
She wore her love for her friends like a badge of honor, and her playful mimicry was her way of saying listen up, galaxy; these are my friends, my people and my everything.
"I know you don't," Pietro said. Mantis never did anything for favors, payback, or even kudos. She did them because she was a genuinely nice person, because she loved her friends, and because as she said... baking was fun! "But doing nice things for my friends is fun for me, so if you let me pay you back, then everybody has fun, right?" he said with a big grin.
"Cake," he said with a definitive nod. "Definitely cake. The galaxy does not have enough cake, in my opinion, and so I feel it is my duty to help increase the presence of cake in space. You know... just trying to do my part and be a good resident of the galaxy, making sure everyone has plenty of cake," he said, as if he was talking about some noble deed done simply by baking a cake. "Because that is what heroes do," he said, pointing at Mantis and repeating a phrase he'd heard Thor use on occasion that he rather liked.
He laughed at Mantis' play on his turtle's name. He liked that she'd picked up that phrase from him, it was cute. "He can have first dibs if he wants, yes, but... am not sure if turtles should eat cake. Have to make sure is safe for him, yeah? Hmm... I wonder if we could make turtle-friendly cake. Green tea maybe? Matcha? Am sure there is something we could do for him." Now the wheels were turning in Pietro's head. He'd have to do some research on this subject, for sure.

So much had changed. For Mantis, it was as if she had been frozen in time for five years – but she was back. Gamora wasn't. Not the Gamora they knew. The idea of a life without her was new to Mantis. It was new to Quill, to Drax, to Groot. But it wasn't new to those who lived. It wasn't new to Rocket, to Nebula, to Pietro.
He had been forced to carry on without his sister Wanda, without most of the Guardians. At some point he had told Mantis that he was twelve minutes older than Wanda. Not anymore. He was now five years older than his twin. But five years was better than an eternity, wasn't it?
Thor would join the Guardians, and Nebula would be staying with them too. But after living with Pietro in the ship, bidding farewell to him was hard. The Guardians were not friends. They were not a team. They were family. One couldn't simply leave family behind, but that was why Pietro had to stay. He had to stay on Earth now that his sister was back, reeling from the loss of her lover Vision.
The Guardians said goodbye to him, each one in their own way. Mantis was the last one to do so, wanting to postpone it for as long as possible. But eventually, she peered up at Pietro and offered a warm smile.
"Well... It was fun."
And, unable to get another word out, the empath threw her arms around Pietro and dissolved into tears. Hugging him as if she wanted to make up for the last five years of pain, grief and hell he had endured. It took Mantis a while to tear herself away from the speedster. This was not the end; once a Guardian, always a Guardian. If Pietro called them, the Guardians would be there.
"Until we meet again."
The Guardians, and no one really, were the same after the Blip. The trauma of it happening was bad enough, but there was also trauma attached to it being undone too. Loved ones coming back to people, homes, jobs, and families that no longer existed. Age differences making things awkward between parents and children, or siblings. And for ones like the Guardians... there was the added trauma of everything they'd had to do to "fix" the Blip, and all they'd had to sacrifice. Some, like Gamora, would never be the same again, and the tight knit chosen family in some ways had to start over from square one with someone they'd been previously so close to. That was hard. Really hard. But they'd been there to help each other through it.
Just like they'd helped Pietro when he'd learned Wanda had been turned to dust by the Snap. And now... she was back... and she needed him. Vision was gone, and Wanda was free-floating in a world he knew would upset her. Without support, he knew how his sister would falter, and he couldn't let that happen. He had to go to her and help steady her, like the good big brother he was. But that meant he was leaving the Guardians. Pietro had tried not to dwell on the fact that he was saying goodbye, and more on the fact that it didn't have to be forever. As long as he focused on that, he'd be okay.
However, when Mantis came to him and perhaps awkwardly summed things up with it was fun... Pietro's eyes instantly flooded despite his smile. "Yeah... yeah, it really has been fun, Mantis," he said, emotion making his voice a little raspy. And then she hugged him and it was all over. He began to cry just as she did, and he hugged her tightly, protectively, lovingly. And he felt so loved in return.
"And we will," Pietro replied in a soft whisper to her. "We will meet again. I know we will." He rubbed her back as they hugged, and when they finally pulled back from each other, he lifted his hands to cup her face and left a soft kiss on her forehead. Still gently holding her face, he smiled at her. "Please always keep being your beautiful and amazing self... because I want to see your best you again when I come back. Okay?" he whispered to her, and he meant every word.
[ for all the Guardians. I wonder what Pietro would toast to! ]
Pietro had been feeling a bit sad, knowing he was returning to Earth. How ironic it was that when he first arrived on the Benatar with the Guardians, all he could think about was returning to Earth and to his twin sister, but now... Now, they were a real family to him. His friends that he dearly loved and would defend with his life, and he knew that they cared for him in return. Even Rocket... who would never ever admit it.
They'd helped him to adapt to life in space, accepted his massive eating habits and his care of Mr. Dibbles, and had done their best to include him and play to his strengths during their various escapades and quests. And when the worst occurred... and he'd heard that Wanda had been turned to dust in the Snap heard 'round the universe, the Guardians had been there to keep him from slipping into a deep darkness from which he otherwise might never have returned.
And in turn, he'd helped them with their problems, been there when they needed to talk, and used his humor and charm to cheer them up when they were down. He talked about fighting with Drax, gave Quill pointers on how to re-woo Gamora, drank and spent time shooting the breeze with Rocket, made tasty desserts and played games with little Groot, and had the best conversations and emotional connection with Mantis. They were all important to him, part of his clan now, considered chosen family.
But Wanda needed him. After she'd been brought back from the Blip, it was clear that she was faltering. She'd gotten herself into some things that surprised him and didn't seem like her and frankly, he was concerned. It was strange to grieve for someone so close to him and then suddenly have her back again, but Pietro knew he had to set aside the weirdness of that in favor of coming to the aid of a sister he promised always to protect.
It wasn't that he didn't want to see Wanda again, but it was so hard to be leaving the Guardians. He tried to soften the blow by saying he'd be back someday, and for all he knew, he really would. It didn't make saying goodbye any easier, though. And now... he'd been prompted for a toast, something he was happy to do, but... what should he say? Nothing seemed to capture the gravity of the moment or the depth of what he felt for them all, but after a moment he smiled, looked at each of them in turn, and raised his glass.
"To a family as big as a galaxy... whose love for each other shines so bright it makes all the stars jealous," he said, his smile becoming rather emotional, his eyes turning glassy with the beginnings of tears. "You guys are the best, and I'm going to miss you all so much," he added, but before the mood could get too heavy, his usual humor returned. "And now I need you to tell me how corny that just was. Rocket? C'mon, I know you've got something to say about that toast," he prompted to lighten the mood, though his eyes had welled up even as he smiled.
{out of paprikash} Hey everyone... I wanted to let you know in advance that I'm going to be putting Wanda and Pietro on indefinite hiatus after the next round of replies on 6/7. My muse for them has been waning for a while, and I've realized that I've been running these blogs at a maintenance level for a long time now, and I think it's time to give them a break.
While I really enjoy the few threads I have on here, I don't have very many, and that's been by design. I haven't been trying to stir up more interactions here because I haven't really wanted any. I also haven't been posting starters, memes, quizzes, aesthetic boards, music posts, etc., and when I'm excited about muses, I do. That's how I can tell that I'm not excited about these muses anymore. Work and family obligations have also ramped up in recent months as well, and I need to dial back the time I'm spending on this site in general. When I am here, I want to make the most of my time, writing muses that I'm most excited about.
This isn't anyone's fault or because of anything anyone did, it's just a decision I'm making for my own free time management. I have really enjoyed writing Wanda and Pietro and am very thankful for all my writing partners and all the amazing stories we've written over the years!
I'm not deleting these blogs, and I can always return in the future if there's new content or if my inspiration returns, but after 6/7, I won't be posting anything new here for the foreseeable future. The reason I'm waiting until after the 7th is because I do want to reply to those of you who have already replied to our current threads. If anyone wants to get in a last-minute reply, feel free to do so, and I'll reply to all currently-running threads and any asks in my inbox on the 7th before closing things down.
Thank you for six years of incredible stories and for helping me to grow as a writer! I'll see everyone back here one more time on 6/7. <3
{out of breath} Alright folks, I'm off to bed now. I should be back here on 6/7, but my job is starting up again this upcoming week, so if things get crazy and that changes, I'll let everyone know. Otherwise, I'll see you all then. Goodnight! =)
Her smile only widened at the mention of Mr. Dibbles' skateboard. It was hard not to laugh at the thought of the small turtle zipping around the Benatar, but the confirmation that Groot had once again tried to use the unsuspecting animal as some form of transportation was what actually sent her into a fit of giggles.
Knowing Groot, he would probably try again, likely sooner than later. His perseverance was truly something to be admired. Though it could be at times faulty, as the logic of children often was, he was simply too excited to share the ship with someone even smaller than himself.
"Oh, of course!" Mantis beamed when Pietro asked for another muffin. "Come on, let's go to the kitchen." In that moment she realized that the Benatar had stopped making noises – her decision to give Pietro some sweets and a little conversation had worked.
Pietro's smile widened to hear Mantis' giggles. It was such a lovely, uplifting, and joyous sound, whenever Mantis giggled or laughed or cooed at something cute. She was most beautiful when she was carefree and happy, he thought to himself. "One of these days, I know we'll see Mr. Dibbles go skating by with Groot on top, and it'll just be a blur, that's how fast they'll be going," he said, chuckling himself.
Mantis was right, of course... some distracting conversation about Groot and Mr. Dibbles and a tasty muffin crammed into his mouth had done wonders to derail Pietro's trauma-driven anxiety. The sounds the Benatar had been making and the reminder of what all those bombs in Sokovia had sounded like were all but forgotten.
"Okay! The slow way, or the Pietro way?" he asked, wiggling his eyebrows and holding out his arms as if to suggest that he could run off with Mantis if she wanted him to. He knew she often didn't like that because it was disorienting, but he still thought it was humorous to ask.
Regardless, he was excited for more muffins, and once they had reached the kitchen, he noticed the lingering smell of baking there. Maybe his nose was overly sensitive, but baked goods were one of the best smells in existence. "You know I am going to have to pay you back for these muffins..." he reminded her. "Next time I bake something, you get first dibs. Promise."

It has been weeks since margo had interviewed pietro and as well as her having the chance to interview other avengers. As she was walking around not really expecting to see anyone she would recognize. She caught a glimpse of a man with that ice blond hair and she could tell who that was. " pietro is that you?"
@missmargomuse616
it wasn't often that Pietro had a day off to go wandering the city, but well, today was that day. It always got him all riled up in the best of ways, with all the hustle and bustle and energy of the city around him. In fact, he had to be careful where he was walking - or running - because he was easily distracted and would sometimes crash right into things.
He was going about his business, seeing the sights and helping out wherever he could - he'd already saved someone from being hit by a car when they weren't paying attention - when he heard a familiar voice. Turning round, he instantly grinned ear to ear. "Margo? Hey! Is so funny to randomly see you here!" He'd remembered the lovely and friendly woman who'd interviewed him some weeks ago, of course. He was very good at remembering faces. "How are you doing? How come you're in the city today?" he asked with interest.
{out of paprikash} Alright, that's all for tonight, folks. I should be back here again in two weeks as usual, on 5/24. I don't think I'll have any scheduling conflicts around that time that'll prevent me from writing here, but if that changes I'll let everyone know. See you then! Goodnight! =)
The muffin and the mention of Mr. Dibbles thankfully seemed to ease Pietro's worry. She was unable to stifle a chuckle when he started talking with his mouth full. Mantis found baking to be a very comforting activity, especially whenever Groot helped her, with his bright eyes, cheerful smile and sweet enthusiasm.
"I did," she replied. Her head tilted and she let out a hum, face turning more pensive. Mantis wasn't a doctor either, but she did know a thing or two about getting inside people's heads. She smiled as Pietro told her about Mr. Dibbles. "You can always let him wander the ship, no one will step on his shell. We are mindful of smaller creatures running around the Benatar because Rocket is not very big – and let alone Groot."
"Speaking of Groot, has he tried to ride on Mr. Dibbles' shell again?"
"You are very talented," Pietro said with a smile after Mantis confirmed that she did, indeed, bake the muffins herself. He picked off another small bit of muffin and popped it in his mouth. "See? Am eating this more slowly, not all at once. Whenever I do that, it means is so good that I want to savor it." It was true, generally speaking, although if it really was that good, then despite his best efforts Pietro usually ended up just shoving the rest of it into his mouth before too long. He only had so much willpower, after all!
"Maybe I will! He's got his little skateboard now, so he can zip around pretty fast." That had been the best investment he'd ever made, buying a children's toy on one of the planets that looked almost like a mini skateboard from Earth. It was the perfect size for a turtle to lay on and propel himself along. Mr. Dibbles had taken to it very well, and looked for it anytime Pietro let him out of his enclosure. He was practicing so much with it that he was getting to be quite the little coordinated traveler.
Pietro chuckled at the mental image of Groot riding on Mr. Dibbles' shell. "He did. Not only that, but he tried to do it while Mr. Dibbles was on his skateboard. It was good for a while, Groot was cheering happily and all that, but... eventually he tumbled right off and onto his little backside. It was very funny. Though... I did check to make sure he hadn't hurt himself before I started laughing, just in case. Safety first, always," he said. "It was okay, though. He was laughing too." Another chuckle escaped him as he licked his fingers from the last of the muffin he'd been eating. "Could I... maybe have one more muffin? Please?" he then asked politely.

“Sure it has, always the two of you, never another one so fragile and vulnerable. Hydra is everywhere and we will come up on top with a bit of scream and shock.” The hydra solider snorted, a piece of hair tied together was dropped, it looked similar to Wanda’s but slightly different.
@justyouraverageocs
This guy was starting to really piss Pietro off. He had no memory of any second sister, but even if he didn't, it still gnawed at him. What if it was true? Was it possible that someone messed around with his memory that much that he just didn't know anymore?
"What the hell is this?!" he said, picking up the hair. It... did look similar to Wanda's, but... not quite. Was this evidence of the truth, or just another part of HYDRA's games? "This does not prove anything," he said defensively, not wanting to believe."
