Trumps Tarriffs Might be killing the shop soon
Well, SHIT folks. So i woke up this morning the etsy emailing everyone that since the tariff effects are going into play aug 25-aug 29, in a few days they'll be halting all postage printing labels until they can sort out how to shuffle around all the de minimis stuff to make sense of it all on their end
I cannot for the life of me find information on what this means for lettermail and oversized lettermail shipping, so for the time being I've deactivated the large prints (fuck you baltimore, smaller gods, etc) that require tracking info, but as more information arises (and I ask the postal office people what the tariffs mean specifically for lettermail shipments) I may have to kill the smaller prints and calligraphy cards as well. I'm currently in the woods/beach on a trip with friends and I'll try to clear the prints paid with lettermail postage while that's still available when i get back in a day or so.
about 85% of my sales are Canada to the US so unlike the temporariness of the postal strikes that maimed my livelihood last year, this might be the final strike that prevents me from being able to make a living off of my art at all.
It's been a fun ride, it's been great being able to support myself on silliness and making people happy with my art but.
I have no idea if the business is surviving this one
If any of yall have any relevant info just let me know, the research hole is giving conflicting and some completely out of date information
