Inquisitor’s Name: Ena'sèanait Lavellan
Race, Class, & Specialization: Elf, rogue, assassin.
Varric’s Nickname for them: Rose
Default Tarot Card: Six of Swords
A long red braid frames the image of two hands trying to hold the sea, while a little boat tries to cross to the shore. The sun is rising in the background, and the light reflects off of her a green bracelet.
How they are recruited: Clan Lavellan sends Ena to the Inquisition to attempt to find the remains of her brother’s body in the rubble of the Conclave so that it may be properly laid to rest in the customs of their people, or so they say, also as a special envoy. Thinly veiled, Ena is a spy, sent very much like Iron Bull to keep tabs and report back every so often. She’s… not very good at it.
Where they are in Skyhold: If not a Chantry installation, Ena sits sketching in the garden. Otherwise, she is perched on the highest level of the mage/templar tower.
Things they Generally Approve of: Protecting innocents, witty retorts and jokes, cutting through the crap.
Things they Generally Disapprove of: Wanton destruction, lengthy explanations, pandering.
Mages, Templars, Other?: Generally, Ena supports the freedom of mages, though she understands why the Templars feel justified (she just doesn’t believe that they are).
Friends in the Inquisition: Varric, Iron Bull, and Dorian. She also likes to listen to Vivienne talk, though she doesn’t care for all of her opinions. Just likes her voice. Also, she very much appreciates how blunt Cassandra is.
Romanceable?: Sure. Ena’s preferences lie in elvhen and human males, though it’s not as though a lady has never caught her eye. She is stubborn and doesn’t trust easily, so beware.
Small side mission: Fetching the veridium ring that her brother wore from the ruins of the Temple of Sacred Ashes. It is enchanted, along with the matching bangle that she wears, so the two harmonize when in proximity.
Companion quest: “Old Roots”
Ena has been missing for days. Leliana says she disappeared shortly after having received a letter from an unknown source. Her agents have tracked the missing hunter to a tavern near Highever. When the Inquisitor arrive, Ena admits that the letter was from someone claiming to be her brother, and out of anger, decided to pursue. It becomes obvious over the exchange that this strange boy is not Faolan, but is probably Fade-touched, or crazy, and shouldn’t be left to wander. She is enraged that someone would pose as her twin, but cannot bring herself to hurt the troubled boy. The decision of his fate is left to the Inquisitor.
Option 1: Bring him to the Inquisitions Mages/Templars, so that they can help him as best they can.
Option 2: Kill or arrest Ena’s “brother” and lock him away in the Skyhold prison.
Ena stays with the Inquisition if your approval is high enough, but she is even more cold and abrasive. Ends romance.
Ena leaves the Inquisition, if she doesn’t like you enough, and you never hear from clan Lavellan again. Ends romance.
Option 1: Three of Cups. On good terms.
A simple goblet, full of light, spilling over into two more, which are being held by two hands, one wearing a green bracelet. The three are tied together by a thin red braided thread, fields of heather sprawl out in the background.
Option 2: The Star. Romance.
A campfire on a starlit night. A hand, wearing the veridium bangle, points up at a constellation.
Option 3: Four of Pentacles. Not so good terms.
A hallway. Three doors stand ajar. The fourth is kicked down and a bloodied corpse lies crumpled on the ground. The green-bangled hand is outstretched towards the body.
