Hey guys, I just wanted to clarify something that's been brought to my attention long ago. There was an anon that came to give me criticism about how I handle POC characters, specifically Brutus.
I do understand the concern and I do apologize that I didn't explain sooner but please understand that when I saw this, it felt very hostile and it wasn't something I was able to properly reply to at the time, especially when I was stressed and really busy for college. I'm open-minded when it comes to criticism and I would love to explain myself further or take advices, but this was not it. I, a POC person myself, didn't intend to ignore other POC voices and the concern itself wasn't the issue but the way it was worded/phrased.
Anyhow, regarding the stereotype, no he isn't *just* an abusive muscular brown man and DeityBill isn't just a helpless white twink. There's more to their characters than that. They have goals, motives, and complex morals that can be point out if given the time to analyse them a bit better.
After the "Brutus" animatic, I was planning a script for a comic to delve deeper into Brutus and Deity's relationship at that time but due to my circumstances, I haven't been able to deliver it (I'm a BMMA student, Im handling more script projects than I thought I accounted for π). I can't spoonfeed information through asks in my inbox because I don't want to drop the information that way. I've always been a "show don't tell" author so most of Deity's past were animatics (and Ford's era consists of comics), so I can understand why the message of the story seemed really vague for most of my audience.

This one is a common ask when I've revealed Brutus's color palette when the recent animatic dropped (His color palette was fixed in 2024 but it was kofi-exclusive) so I'm gonna be real honest... I decided it simply because I wanted to and I was tired of drawing white men, no hidden agenda. It was 2024 when I created starfalls and Brutus. At the time, I thought, hm I've never drawn or made POC characters before but since I have the creative freedom to do what I want, I'll give melanin to the King.

Okay, I can admit, I've never been historically accurate. I was just basing things off of TBOB and was going with the flow. But just because I made a POC character to be the villain doesn't make me racist. I beg of yall to see my characters past their skin color and view them as humans. For example, this kind of mindset is like calling Kane Parsons racist because he wrote a black male to be abusive. God forbid I want POC characters to be in position of power and be hot villains like any other character...
And yes, of course it's historically inaccurate because the whole concept I had was what if Bill was a good whimsical deity that came down to earth and changed everything? The world's setting is close to fantasy instead of it being a casual modern setting at this point because everything outside of gravity falls isn't what you think it is.
I've basically hinted that in a comic at one point and I might be at fault for not mentioning it further... Though, I do count Mr. Ford/Dr. Pines's voice log as one of the hints as well but let me shut up-
Anyways, that's all. I'm not yet a proper author with consistent deadlines or a team or a proper budget, so please acknowledge that I have limits of how I tell my stories so of course it has its flaws (and I'm very well-aware of them because its been gnawing at me forever that I know I could've done better) I've started doing this as a passion project and I want it to continue simply because I find it fun to tackle interesting concepts. StarFalls had been a playground/experimental story for me and I'm really happy I've built a community that loves the AU and my characters. Especially Brutus, I've seen ya'lls edits and comments, you guys aren't slick.
Maybe in the future, I'll make my own stories with proper writing and not just a concept that started without plan because HONESTLY IM STILL FIGURING OUT SF'S STORY AND FELT STUCK ON SOME PARTS but hey its all chill, i just wanna go at my own pace.
I think I need to make it clear that Comet from The Star Clusters (TSCverse) isn't actually an Underswap Sans.
He's from StarSwap, a completely different universe. Obviously heavily inspired by Underswap, but definitely has a different storyline and takes on each character (which hopefully I'll be able to tell that narrative as well cause there's a LOT).

People are falsely accusing Yeloenk of calling Poth fans proshippers and p*dophiles when the video never adressed the fans like that, just the ship and creator (who openly stated to be a proshipper). Like, is it really the only thing you took out from this video?
Meanwhile dismissing the entire video and its actual reason for existing, which is spreading info about the ship having a problematic past that many people did not know about. Because it's been swept under the rug for years. And honestly, looking at the comments it looks like many people would prefer to know it earlier because it makes them uncomfortable so the video was needed. Making people aware of the history behind something is always a good thing. Hiding it is not always a good thing.
Besides, the opinion about the rewrites at the end does not eliminate the first part of the video which is weird implications within the character's canon, supported by evidence (and that's not even everything that could be used).
The past of the ship is problematic and aging up is weird AND there are fan versions that many people separated from the original source that have nothing to do with proshipping. Two things can be true at once. The video does not attack people who were unaware or only liked the unproblematic version. It just states a weird origin of it that has been buried for years and addresses the aging up.
So some will continue to take it as a personal attack on the fans themselves and every person who does rewrites meanwhile the video mentioned rewrites in context of being tired of seeing them because they're an aged-up thing... Like bro. Yeloenk explained in the comments that rewrites of things are not entirely a bad thing, it just depends on the context (which I agree with).
Also like I expected some people are unaware that Nekophy deleted her first blog at some point and with a lot of evidence for many of the things she did and said and are saying that "there's no such info". So small PSA: if you want to see the old version of the blog you can see some posts on wayback machine nekophy.tumblr.com, NOT www.tumblr.com/nekophy (because the second one only shows the new blog after the deletion)

Hi so another thing I think is worth mentioning is that Nekophy had an entire nsfw blog called Nekophysinpile where she would reblog and encourage nsfw art with Poth and Palette that was back then still just 12 years old (you can easily see it in the wayback machine by typing nekophysinpile.tumblr.com)
And other thing that I have to find screenshots for but I'm sure someone remembers if they read about it on her blog... (Finding and attaching in reblogs would be appreciated because I'm quite busy but I NEED people to know this)
Her Goth age logic was "he's 20 but acts Palette's age and doesn't know his own" as if that changes anything (he's still 20 years old and just because he acts "childish" doesn't mean he's excused from being attracted to a minor...)
She also said he couldn't have an adult version because he physically "doesn't age" but he can inhale souls that make him look older (something like when Asriel is becoming taller and having streaks on his cheeks when he has the souls. The "grown up" version with stripes on the cheeks popularized by jessyds was based on an art Nekophy made of that)
Which is again just a bad attempt to justify the weird ship because why would you ship your adult character who only looks like a child with a character that is an actual child
And the nsfw blog also destroys the argument that "well maybe it doesn't matter that she said he's 20 years old because everything else is as if he were a child" okay then if he was a "child" to you and "20 is just a silly number that doesn't matter", then why was he put in that nsfw as well. Yeah
Couldn't you just... Not use those things in your lore from the start. Could you not just make Goth a child from the start?
Or maybe she wasn't even justifying it and it was just an attempt to make the weird dynamic less visible (successfully because to this day people were not aware of it)
