Description: Body length of 6.2-7.9 cm, wingspan of 38-40 cm, and weighing around 14-25 g

Location: Western Canada, to central Mexico

Fun Facts: They're often found by mountains or rocky areas near water! They can also sometimes be around fields. They can consume up to half of their body weight in bugs a night! They are resistant to scorpion venom!! Super cool! They also have echolocation like most bats but sometimes they just use their big ears to hear bugs on the ground! Sometimes in the Spring they’ll feed on Mexican columnar cacti, and are actually more effective in pollinating than some of the nectar eating bats who they compete with for the cacti! Pallid bats in the desert tend to be smaller than the Pallid bats by coastal regions, and larger Pallid bats have skulls that allow them to eat larger and harder prey more easily!!!
