Knocked Me Off My Feet

Acting has always been my dream. I had done theatre all throughout middle and high school. I never wanted to do anything else. I finally worked up the courage to audition for an actual production. It’s a beautiful love story, I haven't gotten any news back about casting though. 

Speaking of which, I’m sitting on my couch as I get a call.

“Hello.” I answer.

“Hi, is this Y/n L/n?”

“Yes this is her.”

“Perfect! This is Kathy Jones with Starlight Productions. I was calling to let you know that we would love to offer you the role of Auden.”

“Are you serious?”

“Yes absolutely. We fell in love with you at auditions. Now moving forward we will need to do a final chemistry test with your love interest but it should be no problem. We start preparing next week so I will email you your first week schedule and script. We will be filming in North Carolina and mostly by the beach so be prepared for the weather.”

“Okay thank you so much. I’m so excited.”

“Of course, have a great rest of your day and I will see you next week.”

“Alright have a good day. Bye, bye.”

No joking, after she hangs up I scream out loud. I can’t believe this is happening. 

The next week

I just got off my flight when I saw a driver with a sign. It has my name on it. I walk up to him.

“Hi you must be Y/n. I’m Mark, I’ll be your driver for the entirety of filming."

“Hi Mark. It’s so nice to meet you.”

“You as well. Now come along, I’m gonna drop you off at your apartment so you can freshen up before the chemistry call.”

“I'm sorry, my apartment?”

“Yes, each of the actors get an apartment complimentary of production while you are filming.”

“Oh wow. That sounds perfect, thank you so much.”

I follow him to a sleek black Cadillac SUV. What is my life? I've never been in such a nice car.

When we arrive at my apartment I’m even more shocked. It’s so glorious, and right along the coast. It’s not a penthouse or anything, but gosh it’s still the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. 

“You go ahead and get settled, I’ll be back in an hour to drive you to the office.”

“”Okay, thank you so much.”

“Of course.”

He then leaves. The first thing I do is set my stuff down and immediately take a shower. Get the airport air off of me. 

After I get out I have about 30 more minutes to get ready. So I quickly blowdry my hair and just leave it straight. I also do a little bit of makeup. Mostly just to look a little presentable. Then my outfit is some jean shorts and an airy sweater. 

I check the time when I’m done and I have a message from Mark saying he’s outside. So I grab my keys and head down.

“Hi Mark.”

“Hi, Ms. Y/n. How are you settling in?”

“Perfectly, that shower was much needed.” I say and laugh. He chuckles as well.

“I bet, airports and flights always leave me feeling gross.”

“Exactly what I was thinking.”

“This shouldn’t be a long drive. Once you get there, your manager should be in the waiting room. It’s right through the door. She’ll go over everything you need to know for the day.”

“I have a manager?”

“For this production, yes. I know this is your first role so production hired one for you so there's no stress. Her name is Megan and don’t worry she’s an absolute sweetheart. I’m her driver normally.”

“Oh okay. I guess I didn’t even think about a manager. I figured an agent was enough.”

“That’s totally fine, don't worry. You’re new, it’s not something everyone knows.”

“At least no one's mad.”

“No of course not, they happily hired her. There's nothing to worry about. Speaking of, we are here. Would you like me to walk you in?”

“No I’m alright Mark, thank you so much.”

“Of course. I’ll be here when you’re done.”

“Why don’t you go get yourself dinner. I don’t mind waiting a minute for you to eat.”

“That’s very kind but I ate before I picked you back up.”

“Oh alright then, I’ll see you in a little.”

I get out of the car and head in the building. I see a woman standing there on her phone when I walk in. She looks up when the door closes.

“Hello you must be Y/n. I’m Megan. I'll be your manager while in production.”

“Hi, yes that's me. It’s nice to meet you.”

“You as well. I’m so excited to work with you. We can get to know each other later but for now I’m just gonna fill you in on what’s going to happen today.”

I nod and she continues.

“So firstly you are gonna go into the main conference room and meet the director, producers, costume, makeup, all those kinds of people. It will just be quick introductions so no pressure. After that you will go into a smaller room and that’s where you will have the chemistry read. You’ll meet your main costar. He’s a sweetheart, you’ll love him. Then you should be done. Any questions?”

“No, I think I got everything. Thank you.”

“Of course, it’s what I’m here for. So go ahead and head into that room straight ahead.”

“Okay, will I see you after?”

“Yes if it’s alright I would love to have dinner so we can get to know each other.”

“Yeah of course that’s fine. I’ll see you in a little.”

I head into the conference room and spend the next 40 minutes saying the same greetings. Not gonna lie, a little tiring. Once I shake the last hand I head over to the smaller room.

When I step in I see two women sitting at a small table.

“Hi Y/n please come in. I’m Kathy and we talked on the phone.”

“Yes, I remember. Hi, it’s nice to meet you.”

“You as well, and this is Jacki, she’s another casting manager.”

“Hi Jacki, so nice to meet you.”

“You as well. It is wonderful to finally get started. I’m so excited to see you bring Auden to life.”

“I’m excited too. Definitely nervous though.”

“That’s totally normal though.” Kathy says.

“But do not worry, we have faith in you.You’ll have such amazing costars to help you as well. Speaking of which, Belmont should be here any second. He’s playing Eli. You are going to love him. He’s such a sweetheart.”

“Megan said the same exact thing.” I say and we all chuckle. 

Right after that there's a knock and someone walks in.

Not to be cheesy, but he’s beautiful. It sounds so stupid but the air was immediately knocked out of me. 

“Belmont, thank you for coming.”

“Of course,” he says and smiles. My god, it's perfect. 

“This is Y/n, she’ll be playing Auden.” Jacki says.

“Hi yes of course it’s wonderful to meet you.” he says and holds out his hand for me to shake.

“You as well. I’m excited to work with you.”

He just smiles brightly. I’m so screwed.

“Alright so basically what you are going to be doing is reading two scenes. We just want to see how well you guys play off of each other. We will do the argument scene and the apology. These are two emotional scenes. We figured it would be perfect to see how well you channel the characters' emotions together.”

We both nod and walk over to the table to grab the scene packets.

“Start whenever you are ready. We’ll do the argument first.”

We both nod again and take a breath at the same time. We look at each other and giggle a little bit.

Then we start reading, it goes incredible. No wonder he was casted, he’s so believable with his emotions.

“That was perfect you guys. Although I had no doubt.”

“That was good, I started feeling bad with what I was saying.” I tell him.

“Oh my gosh me too, your facial expressions almost had me tearing up.” he says and we both laugh.

“You guys are adorable. Alright, let's do the apology scene. Then you guys can head out and rest.”

We get through that scene and we both laugh when we are done.

“Okay you can’t sob like that when we film, cause I’ll start crying.” I tell him and laugh.

“Sorry, I didn’t mean to. I just got so into it.”

“Me too, it was great.”

“You guys are perfect. We are so excited for this. Now you are good to head out and rest for the night. You have fittings tomorrow a little early so don’t stay up too late." Kathy says.

“Okay thank you both so much. It was great meeting you.”

“You as well Y/n. Have an amazing time alright. From here on out we really won’t see each other.”

Belmont thanks them as well and we walk out.

“So that was fun,” he says.

“It was. It was great to officially meet you. I’m really excited to work with you.”

“I’m excited as well. Is it alright if I hug you goodbye.” He asks a little hesitant.

“Of course, I’m a hugger too. Besides, we'll be filming together a lot. Might as well get comfortable.” I say and we hug.

“True, I’ll see you tomorrow. Have a good night.” 

“You too.” I say and start to walk out.

Before I make it out he calls after me.

“Wait, let me get your number. We are friends now after all.” He says and smiles a little slyly.

“Right of course.” I say and hand him my phone.

He puts his contact in as ‘Bel💪’

I look at it and laugh.

“Is that your nickname?”

“Yes, usually.”

“Good to know. It was great meeting you Bel.”

“You too. I’ll see you tomorrow.”

I nod at him with a smile and head out to the car.

I get in and Megan is in the back with me.

She sees my smile and smirks.

“Wow, falling for him already?” She asks and laughs.

“No, definitely not.” But I’m still smiling.

“I don’t blame you, he is a cutie.”

“Yeah he is.”

First fic in a while. Sorry for taking so long, school has been kicking my ass and I've just been all over the place.

KJ Jackson x Reader

PUT THAT DOWN

Working with a bunch of baseball players who have an endless amount of energy is not for the weak. 

Like right now. I’ve been trying to get them to do a dance for 10 minutes now yet no one is paying attention.

“Guys the sooner you all shut up, the sooner we can get this over with.”

“But it's so much fun watching you get frustrated.” Ty says.

“Yeah well you're gonna get frustrated when I make you lead instead of Jackson.”

He quickly shuts up and I laugh quietly.

They finally all calm down and we film our video for the day.

There isn’t a game today so instead I decided to have them do one big dance to keep the fans fed until all the game content.

All of the fans have been asking them to do “I Don’t Dance,” from High School Musical.  So I had them learn the dance sequence from it.

“Okay guys good job! Thank you for that. As long as Jesse and your coaches don’t need anything else you are all free to go and enjoy the day off.”

As I’m packing up my camera Kj walks over.

“So. How about we take the rest of the day and go on a date.”

“Oh I’m sorry baby I can’t. I have to edit this right away so I can post it today.”

“Well how about I help you, then we can go out.”

“You know how to edit?” I say laughing as he wraps his arms around me.

“No, but I can try.” He says laughing too.

“Fine, if you help and we get it done, we can go out.”

“Yes! I’ll go get my bag.” He says and runs off.

*The next day*

I swear these guys are going to put me in an early grave. It’s 3am on the bus and they won’t shut up.

Although I mainly work for social media, Jesse basically has me baby sitting them most of the time. Whenever we travel to different cities.

Ty has been running back and forth on the aisle, Danny throwing his football, I almost threw it out the window. 

“You okay baby?” Kj asked me. Sitting in the seat next to me, even though I was basically laying across him.

“No they won’t shut up. It’s 3 in the morning.”

“Do you want my headphones to block out the noise?”

“But then you won’t have any.”

“I can steal Jackson’s, while he’s in the bathroom.”

“Okay I guess. Thank you.”

“Of course.” He says and gives me the headphones. Then he kisses me on the forehead before quickly stealing Jackson’s. 

I settle back into his chest when he sits back down and I start to doze off, finally. 

I wake up when Kj shakes me awake gently. 

“Baby we are at the hotel.”

“Ugh, okay.” I say muffled against his chest and start to get up. 

“Don’t be grumpy, we can go right to the room and take a nap.”

“That sounds amazing, but we?”

“Yeah.”

“We have separate rooms, mister.”

“I know but that doesn’t mean I’m using mine.”

“You're sharing a room with Jackson, you think he won’t say something.” I look at him with a pointed eye.

“Not if he wants his headphones back.” He says with a smirk.

“Whatever, I need to pee. Let's go.” I roll my eyes and start walking into the hotel.

“Whatever you say, you're the boss.”

*Next day at the field*

“Kyle Jackson put my camera down right now!”

He runs by me with it.

“You can’t make me.” He says laughing.

He then trips over a glove on the ground and face plants. Letting go of the camera, but just in time Zackarie catches it. 

“See look what happens when you don’t listen.”

Without looking I yell at Ty, who's trying to steal my phone.

“Ty Jackson put it down right now! I will call your mother.”

“No you won’t.” He says.

“Wanna bet, cause I have her on speed dial.”

He then shuts up and sets my phone back down.

“Okay everyone we need one last rehearsal for your celebration dances and we need to go over Reece and Dan’s walk-ups for this weekend. So please get in place for Slow it Down.”

For once they all listen and they laugh at the surprised look on my face.

After rehearsals and practice we all go back to the hotel to rest for the game tomorrow.

When we get to my room Kj immediately picks up the room service menu.

“Okay what do you want for dinner?”

“I’m thinking tacos.”

“The best idea you’ve ever had.”

We both laugh and fall into a comfortable silence. We have the tv quietly playing while I lay on his chest.

“I love you, you know that? You’ve made this last year so incredible.” I say, breaking the silence.

“I feel the same way, baby. I never thought that joining a baseball team would lead to me meeting my favorite person. I love you.” He says and kisses me on the head.

Then there's a knock on the door.

“Okay lets eat, then we can get cozy and go to bed. You look exhausted.” He says while getting up to get the door.

“I am exhausted, you guys probably gave me grey hair today with your messing around.”

“We were just messing around.”

“I know. And I love it. But I still can’t stand you guys sometimes.” I say laughing and sit up in bed.

“You know you love us.”

“Only sometimes.”

We both laugh and dig into the food.

Saw Benson Boone on Saturday and I think he puts actual crack in this song

Sky is never not making eye contact with the audience. I swear we were having a no blinking battle at one point.

During the drive in after Emma threw the Soda on Alex, Cole stopped him and asked him, "do you want me to lick it up." I was cracking up and I think im the only one who heard it.

When Sky said Pony was talking to Cherry, Jason whistled after saying, "that's a soc girl."

Kevin blinded me with that flashlight

I didn't realize that during hopeless war the socs were around the tire toasting to Bob before the rumble.

During Stay Gold when they sing, "sixteen years. Look at all we've done." Sky looked at Jason. It made me remember that Soda is 16
