Happy birthday Eirin! Here’s some soulmate AU angst for you.
I took the note in my hands and stared at the words.
What did he mean he was gone? Where the hell had Dean run off too? Did he really just…?
I growled and threw the note back on the bed.
“Y/n,” Castiel tried to console me.
“Not right now Cas.” I hissed.
“Hey,” Sam grabbed my arm. “We’ll find him.”
Something passed between us. Sam knew I wasn’t staying and I knew he wasn’t going to try to stop me either.
Yeah I’d find Dean. Then beat him with a bat.
How could he just leave me!? He died! In my arms! And now he’s just gone!? Some soulmate he was.
I packed a bag with most of my stuff, gave both Sam and Cas a sisterly peck then set on my way: to an airport.
“Well hiya Sammy.” Dean grinned. “Where’s my baby cakes?”
“She’s not yours. She’s Deans.” Sam hissed. “And she’s been gone for months. No calls. No texts. Nothing.” Sam shrugged. He trusted you to keep out of trouble and would call when you were ready.
Demon Dean didn’t respond.
“Where is she?” He snarled after a deliberate moment, eyes flashing black.
“I don’t know.” Sam shrugged.
Dean roared in fury and vanished.
“Crowley I need you to find someone for me.” Dean slid the king of hell a fruity margarita.
“Missing your pet then?” Crowley mused.
“No.” Dean bit. “She ain’t mine and I don’t care about her.”
“Then why do you want to find her? Hmmm?” Crowley smirked.

Greece was nice this time of year. I had rented a small cottage on an island for the summer and loved every moment. There were no dead lines, no pressing matters, no dates, no monsters, and no Dean.
I hummed as I picked the fruit from a wild orange tree, gathering them in my long skirt.
“Y/n.” I heard a familiar voice from behind me, yet it was harsher, more cruel.
“Hello Dean,” I didn’t even turn around. Instead I continued to pick oranges.
“What the hell are you doing here? Why didn’t you tell Sam where you were? Why didn’t you call him?” He sounded upset.
“There’s not very good service out here and Sam wasn’t worried.”
I heard a low growl emit from Dean. This time I did turn to face black eyes.
“So it’s true. Daimonas.” I whispered the Greek word. I gathered the edges of my skirt, cradling the fruit and began walking towards my cottage. “How’s that working for you?” I threw over my shoulder.
“Get back here.” He snarled and appeared in front of me. I glared up at him.
“Or what?” I snarled right back. “You gonna hurt me? Kill me? You already did that the day you left. You hold no threat to me.” I sneered, holding my chin high.
His black eyes flashed back to green as I pushed around him and inside, slamming the door behind me.
“Open this door!” Dean demanded banging on it rapidly.
“No!” I yelled back defiantly. “Just leave! You didn’t seem to have a problem the first time!” My voice was venomous.
The knocking stopped. I let out a small sigh and set the oranges in the small sink to be washed for later.
I jumped when I heard a seating crack. I whipped around to see that Dean was in my door way and the door was gone.
“Are you fucking serious!?” I screamed. “Why can’t you leave me alone!? You left me you asshole! Now you can’t jus waltz in here like it’s fine! Because it’s not! It’s not fine! Not get the hell away from me before I kill you!” I pulled out my angel blade and twirled it.
Dean didn’t say a word. His eyes didn’t flash back. He wasn’t rampaging. He wasn’t even mad. He just looked empty.
“Tell me truthfully.” He spoke lowly, taking calculated steps towards me. “That you don’t want me. That you can’t love me. That you don’t need me and you’ve moved on. And I’ll leave. And you’ll never see me again.” The cruel was had left his voice. He sounded like Dean. My Dean.
“I…” I lowered my angel blade. “I can’t.”
