I live to serve, do I not?

I’d never done anything on such a large scale. It’s a big futuristic studio movie, and I was excited to get involved because of the Wachowskis. I’ve always been inspired by their imagination and the scale of their productions. I got to wear prosthetics for the first time – I wore prosthetic ears. It’s a visually spectacular film.

“There is a car in the lobby of my apartment building and a wall of fire in front of the stairs and you’re giving me a lecture about how I’m nosey? What is your problem? Were you dropped on your head?”

“What is it that you expect me to say? I can’t give a full synopsis to anyone who happens to wander by; do you know how many people have claimed they were relatives just to get a better look? And I doubt this building fits full families of twenty-seven.”

Violet rolled her eyes in a way that said she was done caring. Simultaneously a bird pooped on the other woman’s head, and a car drove past splashing her with a tidal wave of muddy water. Violet escaped without a drop on her clothes, her adversary was not so lucky. Should she continue to be an annoyance, Violet was quite sure she would be unable to shake her bad luck.

Famulus unwinds the now-soiled shawl from her head with slow, careful movements, running her fingers along the node behind her ear as she does so. “What a pity,” she laments. “I did like that one.” She levels an almost pitying look at the woman. “Are you finished being childish, or would you like to continue your little tantrum?”

“It’s y business if there are two exploded cars outside my building.”

“Is it truly? Unless you claim ownership of either, I believe you’re just another curious bystander.”

Ricardo is going to flip when she tells him about this.          “Ma’am, our decorations are set by our            contracted interior designer. I have no            control over that. I–our lower cost rooms           have a few less items in them. We could           move you to one of those?”

     “If that’s the extent of your ability, I suppose I’ll have      to be satisfied with what I have been given. No; the      other occupant will be arriving shortly, and I doubt a      delay would suit him. I’m surprised this is the first      complaint you’ve had on the matter.”

“Can’t say I am either, my French don’ really go past ‘hello’ and 'goodbye’. Maybe the occasional 'watch it.’ ”

“I know a hair more than that, but admittedly, those are some of the few phrases I seem to use.”

“Well while I am not familiar with you music, I perform annually on various instruments in various styles at Carnegie Hall, Royal Albert Hall, the Paris Opera house, the Sydney Opera House, and even more nations have invited me, but due to my demanding schedule of charity work I Have been unable to accommodate them.” She looked upon the other woman with the most complete aristocratic disdain that could possibly be achieved. “So perhaps I should educate you on what true ignorance is.” 

“Awfully sure of that, aren’t you?” The only physical response she shows is the slight curl of her lips, and the quirk of an eyebrow. “Very well, then, since you insist.”
