like I can't think of a more obvious example of how even in a story about a fat girl that gets bullied for her looks and shy personality people still can't conceive her being anything but a skinny awkward white girl. being awkward and maybe having glasses is the most weird a girl in hollywood can get before she stops being deserving of sympathy
like I still can't get over the fact that stephen "writes a child orgy in the middle of his book cause that's the only way he sees a group of boys and a girl bonding" king got this concept before every modern day director to adapt this story
