i find it so embarrassing when i’m talking about comics to someone irl and accidentally call the characters their real names because why am i on a first name basis with batman

Plays are a dramatically underrated source of inspiration for games (both tabletop and of the computer variety). I seem to see people debate 'cinematic' games every thirty fucking seconds, or call games 'books you have to press A during', but I can only really think of one game that uses plays as its medium of inspiration, that of course being Pathologic, a game which is entirely and completely theatrical, both in writing, and the fact the characters are literally preforming a pantomime. Sort of. But apart from that, there's kind of nothing. And while i understand that to separate itself from a film inspired game, any theatrical game would need to get weird with it, I am baffled at how few make the attempt. Anyhow, play Pathologic, it's great
