Hot take: I dont think Nico is out of character in The Sun and the Star or in the Court of The Dead. People change when they finally heal. I personally saw a lot of myself in Nico in how he went from being all morose and serious to being a little happier and cheesier.

Warm/hot? Take: i liked the sun and the star. I thought it was a good book, i don't understand the unbelievable hate on it. "They act so cring-" OH MY GODS. They're teenagers, in their FIRST ever relationship(that we know of for will.), nico's finally feeling safe enough to act like his old self again. They're both traumatised teenagers. Does anyone know a fic on AO3 where Percy and Nico are giving sword fighting lessons to some younger campers on the first day of summer (i think?) and one of them accidently stabs nico and he's like great now we have to go to the infirmary and Wills gonna be pissed. Percy turns to the younger campers and is like field trip time and we all get to meet Nico's better half or smthn like that. When they get to the infirmary Will's jokingly like nope get out, you're bleeding on my floor, and then just directs him to a cot and charms the younger kids. And then nico realised Will has a headache but he says he's handling it. Ive search all of AO3 and I cant find it and its bothering me 😭
