SEMI - HIATUS

      "It would seem I turned your lap into a pillow." The smile faded, and Tord hummed in wordless apology. He did not like sleeping on the job. She could have been the most trustworthy person in the world and Tord would still be afraid of falling asleep.

“  do   you   want   to   take   a   break   ;  stay   like   this   for   a   while   without   having   anyone   or   thing   distract   us,   just   forget   about   our   troubling   lives   for   even   a   second ?  “   just   saying   it   sounded   tempting   to   her ,   but   it   was   up   to   him.   lillian   knew   what   he   was   doing   in   his   own   time   was   much   more   important   than   what   she   does.

                      ❛ you don’t even remember what you used to  look  like before.   who  WERE  you ??   there are no  journals ,   no  pictures ,   ——   only faded memories of what once  was .   they say that if you wear a mask too  long ,   you forget who you are  underneath .   others say that you  become  the mask itself.   maybe,   in your case,   it’s  BOTH .   you’ve reinvented yourself into a kind of person you would  look  up  to  as a child,   star - eyed  & dreaming of joining in on the  action .   join in you did,   but lost yourself in the  process .   was it  worth  it ??   well…………   you’ve been asking yourself that every  night  for  years ,   now .   maybe one day you’ll wake up &  KNOW  the answer .

                       “Heeey y~o~u~!” The blonde chimed as she bounced in the others direction.

              the woman slowly turns her head in the direction of the rather chirpy voice. “ ... oh. it’s you. ”

                         he tries hard NOT to smile or laugh, but with his mood it’s impossible. “wow.” that’s all he can really manage– the visual in his head funnier to him than the actual joke.

                   “ is that all i get ? ‘WOW’ ? damn tough crowd. ”
