Even now, as broken as you may feel, you are still so strong. There’s something to be said for how you hold yourself together and keep moving, even though you feel like shattering. Don’t stop. This is your healing. It doesn’t have to be pretty, or graceful. You just have to keep going.

“I know what it’s like to be afraid of your own mind.”
— Dr Reid’s/ Criminal Minds
“Never forget how far you’ve come. Everything you have gotten through. All the times you have pushed on even when you felt you couldn’t. All the mornings you got out of bed no matter how hard it was. All the times you wanted to give up but you got through another day. Never forget how much strength you have learned and developed along the way.”

shatterd
Sometimes my skin feels like it’s the only thing that keeps me togehther.. all this shatterd parts of my soul. It feels like if I rip my skin a little bit everything will float out of me.
Hope
I am still struggling. Struggling every god damn day. Some days are easy and the next day it feels like I didnt make progress at all. But I did! I had so many happy days. They are just so easy to forget when all you want to do is stay in bed. Five years of fighting are not useless. I am proud. Still got a long road ahead but I can tell you there is light at the end of the tunnel and you can do it. Some days the light will dissapear but don’t worry the next day it may shine as bright as it never has before!
Shout out to the people going through some things but trying their hardest to stay positive. Proud of you.

Daily Reminder!
Your heart will heal in time
take some time to reflect on how much you’ve grown over the last few months, in any way, whether you started going to therapy, got a new job, gained new interests, finished your exams, started journaling, or even became more empathetic towards yourself. remind yourself that growth is always there, and that it doesn’t need to be incredibly life-changing to hold significance. you are growing in every way; and these things often lead to very bright things.

medication
Four month ago my therapist recommended to try medication against my ocd. I am living with a compulsiv disorder since I am 10. Sometimes its stronger, sometimes I had it not at all. But since 2 years I am dealig with dermatillomania which got worse in the past six month. So monday will be the first day for me to take the medication.
I am scared. This is a big decison for me.
She compered it with somebody trying to walk again after an injury. Like crutches for my brain. And I think this is a good way to see it.
I feel that I am weak. Weak that I can’t do this just on my own. That I need this help. I am scared of what my friends will think if I would tell them. If somebody could ever love somebody like me.
But the hardest thing is to see my mother crying in the kitchen and her being afraid that I maybe change if I take the antidepressants.
I just hope that it will help me. I want my old life back. Nobody knows how hard it is to pretend to be happy everyday when you are ashamed of your skin. Ashamed how you look and worring if anybody can see how damaged your skin is. Not wanting to go in the sun bc somebody might see how much coverage you you used. Not being able to go to the pool even if you want it so badly.
Nobody knows how much pressure it is that nobody can notice how you really feel.
thoughts
sometimes I think:
- just that one spot
- now you’ve started so you can keep going and squeeze every spot you can find
- these zits are disgusting. there is dirt under your skin you have to get rid of it even if it hurts and looks terrible afterwards
- just go into the bathroom and apply some moisturizer and than leave (leaving the bathroom half an hour later completely mutilated)
- you can remove the skin from this spot its completely healed
NO. THIS IS NOT TRUE. ALL OF THESE THOUGHTS ARE NOT RIGHT. This is your derma trying to trick you. And everytime I fall for it.
