It was a particularly hot day which meant the decision Yugi had come to was even easier to get to. Of which, sprawling like a feline on their bed with nothing on. Though while he laid there trying to cool down, he couldn't help his mind.... Wandering. Which then of course led to him calling out innocently. "Atem?"
"Just a moment, aibou. I almost have it."
The once king was going to kick himself in just a few moments for leaving his aibou waiting. But for now, he had no idea the surprise waiting for him in the bedroom. The central air conditioning had gone out a few days ago and with it being July, that meant regular heatwaves.
Thanks to those two facts, he and Yugi had done everything they could think of to stay cool and beat the heat. Cold showers twice a day, sticking their heads in the fridge or freezer, going to the beach or a pool, even as simple as eating ice cubes. And sure those things helped for a short time, but it didn't take long before the heat got to them again. What had only made it worse was leaving the door or the windows open.
The box fan that the once king suggested they get only served to circulate the heat in their apartment. So finally after a week of heat, he'd finally ordered a cooling unit online. The problem with that? There were mixed reviews on it. Some sang its praises and others complained that it just circulated the hot air like a box fan did.
But desperate times called for desperate measures at this point. Short of walking around nude, there was nothing else they could do besides wait for repairs to finally be done on the air conditioning. That's what Atem was doing that had him busy now, setting the cooling unit up, setting it in the optimal space and hoping it would do some good.
All for naught though it seemed, sure enough as the unit swiveled, all it did was blow out warm air. Finally defeated, the man groaned as he made his way toward the bedroom.
"Another failure, aibou. I'm sorry, I thought that I really found a sol-"
His words dried up and his mouth was left to hang open as his eyes landed on his partner. It seemed that being nude hadn't been completely out of the question after all. Or so a dim part at the back of his mind noted. The other part was fully stunned. His partner who was usually so shy and nervous about exposing himself was fully naked now and very clearly waiting for him. And suddenly, the heat wave hitting Japan was the last thing making him hot as his body responded just as his mouth closed into a smirk.
"A surprise for me, Yugi~?" he purred as he moved closer to him, his eyes drinking in the sight of pale skin dampened with sweat from the heat. "I hope you know what you've done. You can't reveal yourself this way without me worshipping you."
All of that to say, both of them were about to get even hotter as tan fingers trailed feather light over his beautiful fiance's arm first as he knelt on the edge of the bed where he bent to brush his lips over the pretty pink ones he loved to taste. He lingered there for only a few seconds, though already the heat in the pit of his stomach wanted him to claim his partner's mouth. But instead of listening, he smirked again as he stood once more and removed his shirt and pants.
"Before I ravish you like you deserve, I'm giving you only one chance to say no if you're too hot."
