Making the dragons three distinct breeds, to the point you can somewhat accurately draw genaeology between them, is both heartbreaking and so fascinating.

Caraxes and Meraxes (the skull in dragonstone) look so similair, but Meraxes died well before Caraxes hatched, meaning he never knew his mother, just like Daemon, whose mother passed before he likely had even a memory of her.

Vermithor most likely being Vhagar's child because of their skull shape, lack of prominent upward horns, and sag, yet Vermithor explicitly being set up to be something they need to kill Vhagar.

Vhagar and Meleys, and Vhagar and Caraxes, both dragons that belonged to people Vhagar's riders loved, who likely shared a bond with Vhagar in turn, yet we know what must happen, now.

So many bonds broken and shattered throughout these beautiful creatures, for the sake of the people they made Kings.

Moondancer is definitely Caraxes', either via vhagar or meleys

IDC what HOTD says on them, Dreamfyre is literally big Drogon, those three are her long lost babies- as is Seasmoke, most likely.

Dreamfyre in turn was likely Balerion's, which, given the history between Dreamfyre's first rider and Balerion's third, is another interesting dynamic.
