MC and Sebastian are so different to me they’re like Jane and Rochester. They’re weird emotionally, spiritually, physically, mutually. There’s some strange power dynamics going on, they are zoned in on each other unnervingly, they’re just as bitchy and even mean to each other as they are tender and uniquely intimate, they argue and pontificate or, sorry, “debate.” And MOST especially, they aren’t beautiful. This is important to me personally that it seems is unique only to me tbh. Sebastian in my head is not some sex god nor do all the girls in school think he’s cute or that they want him. No, he’s strange and kind of arrogant and mean in his humor, he can be selfish and asocial and bookish, and he’s covered in freckles which I imagine isnt the height of beauty standards at the time. And my MC is similar, though not wholly personality wise—she’s nicer, but she’s definitely strange. And she’s not pretty, that’s essential. They’re intoxicating to each other, but my MC is very tall, hair as lanky as her form, slightly bug-eyed, not traditionally feminine. Neither of them are desirable traditionally, to me. Im rambling but moral of the story: scratch off the gunky sheen and glamor on your Seb and MC, you will thank me
