we all knew this show was a tragedy going in so i'm not even necessarily mad about them killing off a character in and of itself because that's the nature of the beast and there can't be dramatic irony without it but i think it's so transparent that they disposed of lottie to make room for a white character in hillary swank joining the cast when lottie had been central to the first two seasons and that's bullshit. i mean s1 literally ended with WHO THE FUCK IS LOTTIE MATTHEWS. then in s2 they didn't know what to do with her so they threw her in the psych ward while the other characters got to go home free. and now this. it's clear simone kessell is also unhappy with it and i really do not blame her. they're now going to use this as a plotline for misty to look into her death i fucking guess. which, again, plotline for a white character. i think the visual of her dying on the same steps she saw in her vision 25 years earlier absolutely fucks as well i just wish they hadn't done it at this point in the show. i am a huge tragedy enjoyer but i think you should be able to recognise when something stinks. and this does.
