        hyeonjeong was excited. he didn’t get to hang out enough with his furry friend despite getting to spend a lot of time around the other’s apartment. he always seemed preoccupied with other things and so when he got the chance to finally spend some alone time with the other, he was very happy to take it. 

it was his first free day in a while and so when his friend asked him if he’d like to come hang out earlier that week he was very happy to comply in the other’s idea and got himself all hyped up for a full day of movies and cuddles.

carrying a bag full of disney movies and snacks, he made his way to the other’s home. happily swaying the bag forth and back and with a slight hop in his step he made his way from his car to the front door of the building, ringing the bell. he’d made sure to get only some of the best blu-rays he has in his collection; oliver and company, lady and the tramp and of course, the aristocats.

        it felt like his heart was beating a thousand beats a second, his eyes latched onto the person standing in front of him. it had been years since he’d last seen them; yet, they hadn’t changed at all. he still had the same soft eyes and round nose that hyeonjeong had gotten so used to all those years ago and that he missed so greatly after their last goodbyes. 

he wasn’t expecting to see the other again after the last summer they’d spent together. he blushed as he thought back to that time, memories flooding his mind of the beach, watching the sun go down and disappear into the sea, feelings of hope and trust.

         after typing out the last email he’d had to send out that night, hyeonjeong was happy to finally hit the send button and lean back against the wall he was sitting against with a long sigh, the bright purple blanket he’d grabbed from the other’s apartment sliding off his shoulders as he did so. his eyes landed on the male standing next to him, the soft pull of their bond filling his chest with a warm feeling, he was close to his witch and it put him at ease. 

it was late, the chilly air that the early hours of the morning brought with them wrapped around the pair like a thick blanket. the sky littered with stars and the moon standing high and bright, the sphere looked almost fully lit up, indicating a full moon must be just around the corner. 

he could hear the late night traffic in the distance, somewhere below them and he was sure the city looked wonderful from where they were sitting right now. only hyeonjeong wasn’t interested in the city lights, his eyes lingering on the other who seemed to be deep in thought. he had seen this exact same view many times before, be it in his dreams or in real life, it stil managed to amaze him; the male’s features glowing as the moon bared her light upon them; “handsome,” he thought to himself.

he smiled, his eyes falling back to his dimmed phone screen. despite the cold the male enjoyed whenever he got to accompany the other during his work. loving to watch the other while he was in his element.

tapping his phone screen to stop the device from locking, he opened the safari app. a smirk falling over his face as it opened on a page full of fun facts he’d looked for earlier that day. it was not that he got bored being around the other when he was doing what he did best, it was just that he enjoyed bothering him as much as he could just to get the male’s attention and so he read the first fun fact on the page as he turned back to the other.

         hyeonjeong was tired, no exhausted. it had been a long day and the male was sure if he’d had to stay at work even a second longer, they would’ve had to call for an ambulance. or maybe not. he would’ve fallen asleep on his assistant, though. bidding his goodbyes to his overworked colleagues and assistant, who he offered an apologetic smile, the male made his way out of the office they’d been stuck at all day. “see you all tomorrow, get some rest. you all worked hard today.”

he truly appreciated his team, each and every single person on his team worked over hours to make sure there were no misunderstandings with other political parties and that every single document was read over and over multiple times, discussing them together, discussing their stance towards them... he sighed. today really had been a long day. all he wanted to do right now was curl up and get petted.
