Lean On Me // Nithan
nathan-soldatâ:
âGuess I can stop worrying that youâre going to kidnap my kid, then.â Nathan said dryly. It wasnât entirely a lie. Other than Nathan, Nico was the only person Adrien would happily go with without fussing. It was his biggest problem with Nico. Until him, he had been the only person Adrien trusted and he had sort of liked that feeling. Then the fae had gone and ruined it for him. Heâd started to worry somewhere in the back of his mind that there was some truth to faeries kidnapping children.Â
âYes, but if I didnât have bad luck, I wouldnât have any luck at all.â He pointed out. Nathan took a few experimental steps forward, and while it wasnât easy, he was pretty sure he was going to be able to get Nico back to the ranch like this. Besides, he enjoyed Nicoâs surprise, until the table were turned on him and he gave a long-suffering sigh. âAt least with you around I wonât feel homesick. You would fit in well in France.â
âI tried that whole thing once, took it back after like, an hour.â Nico admitted. The kid wouldnât stop crying, and it just got to be a drag. Heâd honestly only done it because the human had offered. He assumed it was better when you were still part of the Court, and could just hand the kid off to a random fae. Either way, he wouldnât kidnap Adrien. The kid was great, but was also a little shit when Nathan wasnât around.
âSounds like a decent motto.â Nico said. It was at least accurate. Nathan did have shitty luck, although Nico hoped he didnât see being on the Ranch as being bad luck. Or at least, not having Nico around. Right at this moment, he wasnât enjoying it, but it couldnât be that bad. He grinned, but let his hand drop. âFrance is great. And terrible. Itâs a weird paradox.â
