stiles does, in fact, have wings. they come in painfully by literally bursting from his shoulders, and not until his magic has matured some. however, when they do come through i imagine them to look something like they do in this promo i threw together. however, within the wings there is webbing much like a spider's, but thicker and more vine like. it's silken to the touch, but bendable with the consistency of rubber.
his wings are his greatest defense, even greater than his magic. whenever stiles feels in danger, threatened, or that he needs to defend himself, the webbing thickens and binds together to become stronger than steel and can cut through nearly anything.
however, his wings are also his weakness. if touched at the base (where they grow from between his shoulder blades and around his spine) it's practically a shut-down button for him, due to the fact the pain never goes away after bursting through. it's ignorable, yes, but as soon as it's contacted, it takes him down. because of this, he's highly, highly protective of his back and will nearly attack anyone that sneaks up on him. (and that's for various other reasons, too, but we'll... we'll ignore that for now.)
around the frame (as seen in the promo) it feels like bone, but more scale-like and leathery with a strange oily feeling to them. the bone is very fragile to allow flight, but retrieving any part of this bone is also another weakness - a blade made out of it could kill him.
