independent,   highly   selective, canon divergent   &   low   activity   —   briar   rose   /   princess   aurora   aka   “the   sleeping   beauty”   …   will   contain   inspirations   from   the   original   perrault   fairytale,   disney's   sleeping   beauty,   maleficent,   greek   &   fae   mythology   &   the   tchaikovsky   orchestrated   ballet.   i   will   also   be   incorporating   my   own   headcanons   in   the   mix. 

exploring   the    themes    of    —     the   gentle   rose,   tragic   dreamer,   fae   blessed   maiden,   titania,   hair   of   gold,   heart   of   gold 

content    of    a    dark & mature    nature    will    be    present.   including    but    not    limited    to :  ideation of death, pregnancy, harming a child & more.

❝   oh   dear   me   …   ❞   the   young   woman   looked   up   towards   the   heavens,   wondering   how   time   managed   to   pass   by   so   quickly.   she   always   loved   striking   up   a   conversation   with   bright   souls   &   this   girl   was   among   the   most   sparkling.   her   fluency   in   japanese   finally   paid   off   !   a   smile   grew   wider   on   her   lovely   visage,   tightening   her   hold   on   the   bouquet   of   roses   in   her   arms.   perhaps   this   meeting   was   fated   …   her   first   week   in   this   country   too.   ❝   what   a   blessed   day   this   has   been!   i've   met   a   new   friend   already!❞   she   stepped   forward   &   pressed   her   rose-red   lips   to   the   soft   pallor   of   usagi's   cheek. 

❝   may   we   meet   again   soon,   my   darling   !   i've   gotta   go   now   …   my   boyfriend   is   waiting   for   me.   ❞

❝   in   love   …   ❞   seraphic   features   belies   a   solemn   heart,   one   that   bled   in   sympathy   for   the   young   girl   before   her.   bereft   of   home   &   confused   beyond   belief   …   a   hand   reached   out   to   caress   strawberry-rose-colored   tresses   affectionately.   a   pang   of   maternal   concern   ached   in   aurora's   golden   heart   &   it   wanted   to   ease   nikki's   anxieties   in   whatever   way   she   could.   ❝   believe   in   love   …   there   are   good   people   here   who   want   to   see   you   home.   &   I   am   one   of   them   …   ❞   she   will   hold   the   girl   in   her   heart   for   as   long   as   she   can.    

aurora   is   typically   associated   with   blue   &   pink   ...   but   i   feel   she   represents   lilac   or   a   soft   purple.   i   like   to   incorporate   this   color   scheme   because   of   the   existence   of   the   lilac   fairy   in   the   ballet,   who   was   essentially   the   queen   of   faeries   &   leader.   given   that   my   interpretation   has   rose   being   considered   a   successor   to   a   "titania"-like   figure   ...   i   think   it   is   only   fitting.

the   lilac   fairy   is   the   leader   of   fairies   similar   to   the   ballet   &   in   a   disney   verse,   she   would   be   the   antithesis   to   maleficient's   evil   &   the   one   who   sent   flora,   fauna   &   merryweather   to   bless   aurora   as   she   could   not   attend. 

maleficent's   true   name   is   carabosse,   based   on   the   wicked   fairy's   name   in   the   ballet.   maleficient   seems   more   of   a   name   bestowed   onto   her   by   the   people   or   title   given   because   she   is   "the   mistress   of   all   evil"   —   i   refuse   to   take   into   account   her   film   where   she   was   always   maleficent.

rose   is   famed   for   her   incredible   beauty   &   kindness.   this   has   led   to   many   an   admirer,   which   include   famous   painters,   sculptors   &   more   wishing   to   capture   her   loveliness   on   canvas   or   stone.   the   impressive   volume   of   people   wishing   to   sketch   or   mold   her   visage   became   so   overwhelming,   there   was   a   halt   to   the   services   in   the   castle   …   only   if   the   queen   allowed   it,   would   they   be   given   the   chance.   this   is   a   subject   of   much   discomfort   for   aurora   &   philip /   her   husband,    

the   sun's   rays   beamed   through   the   window,   casting   a   glow   onto   her   golden   hair   as   aurora   sat   at   the   table.   a   display   of   sweets,   tea   &   little   sandwiches   were   arranged   tastefully.   with   a   soft   smile,   she   gestured   towards   the   treats,   wanting   her   guest   to   feel   as   comfortable   as   possible.   ❝   relax,   dear   &   eat   with   me   …   there   is   much   to   discuss   !   ❞   the   queen   paused   to   pour   a   cup   of   tea,   the   aroma   of   crisp   apples   &   cinnamon   wafting   the   area.   ❝   how   is   your   kingdom   fairing?   your   sister?   ❞   a   kindness   bled   openly   from   her   honeyed   voice.    

with   a   sweet,   melting   sigh   …   the   maiden   stretched   languidly,   a   dreamy   smile   playing   on   rose-red   lips.   elegant   fingers   reached   over   into   the   basket   &   plucked   a   berry   to   pop   in   her   mouth,   its   rich   flavor   bursting   onto   her   tongue.   there   was   a   soft   breeze,   wind   gliding   across   fields   of   green   as   she   &   belle   sat   on   a   comfortable   blanket.   ❝   i   could   stay   here   forever,   couldn't   you?   ❞   aurora   said   to   the   brunette,   another   sigh   escaping.   ❝   but   alas,   the   stuffiness   of   the   palace   awaits   us   in   the   evening   …   ❞
