Facettes is a musical collaboration between two long-time French friends who have been DJ’ing together since their teens. Twenty years on from their adolescent musical obsessions, they found themselves at the antipodes of the earth, Ben G in Strasbourg (France) and Klassix from Paris in Auckland (NZ). Ironically, despite being the greatest distance that they have ever lived from each other, communication via the internet gave them the flexibility to be far more productive than ever, and a natural collaboration ensued. Facettes is about producing tracks that reflect their emotions, fusing deep house, tech-house and cosmic techno. Their DJ set is a combination of deep, hypnotic and melodic atmosphere. Facettes’ productions have been released on labels like Dear Deer Records, My Visions, Karmic Powers and soon on Ein2/Eimusika and Miam records. "Ben G" has been involved in the music industry for many years, from running a record store in the late 90’s to starting up and managing an online radio show, Righton FM, for over 10 years. He has several residencies in France and manages a selection of bars, clubs and festivals in the East of France. He has hosted numerous legends such as Jazzanova, Ame, Recloose, Deetron, Joakim and Carl Craig. "Klassix from Paris" moved from France to New Zealand in 2012. Following the move he decided to follow his musical passions and retrained as an audio and live sound engineer. He has hosted several radio shows, works as a resident DJ in Auckland and a freelance audio engineer. Enthusiastic record diggers and synth hunters, they have recently started a new project called “Discotheque Fantastique” where they share a part of their eclectic repertoire and produce re-edits and interpretation of tracks that reflect their eclectic musical background, from afro, disco, funk, to world and alternative rock.
