gotham city had always been far colder than most places. even without the additional touch of frost from mister freeze, it often-times felt as if the weather would never change again ; destined to live in the dark fog and constant rain as long as they stayed here. steph didn't mind the rain sometimes, she enjoyed the way a fresh, hot cup of coffee could warm her up on days like this, but she would definitely be lying to herself if she said it never bothered her at all — the rain-soaked feeling of her costume sticking against her skin was hardly pleasant either. on nights like this, when patrolling across the rooftops for any signs of trouble, batgirl could only dream of a winter equivalent of her suit... but they weren't on patrol tonight. this was one of their rarer nights off, letting bruce and damian handle the vigilante business. shoving her hands into her pockets, involuntary shivers were starting to rear up, and seeing her own breath was like a jedi mind trick, making her feel way colder than she should.
her head turns to glance his way as he pipes up — of course he noticed. sometimes, it felt like tim noticed things about her before she could... maybe, in part, because of how long they've known each other? bound together by all the years. a faint smile tugs at her lips, though her eyes roll too. " steph teases, raising her brow as she looks at tim fondly. his disguise all those years ago had been way too amusing to forget... but she was just glad he had been there when she needed him too. one of the most reliable people in her life. the cold wind whips at her loose blonde hair, and she reaches up to brush it behind her ear in hopes to tame the frizz. for a split second, she can feel some quippy rebuttal building on her tongue — something about never feeling this cold in her robin costume and wondering the same of his — but she swallows it quickly, her cheeks burning softly pinker as she lets him look out for her. " you sure? like, you're not gonna feel cold in a minute, and demand it back, are you? 'cause i'm warning you right now, drake... once that jacket meets my body, it's not coming off til i'm inside again ! "

I like to imagine in the later years, when steph is rocking the batgirl moniker ( babs remains oracle in my dreams, and cass is also batgirl / deserves to take up bruce's mantle ) she keeps the spoiler costume and goes a bit dark with it in the same way that bruce lets rumors fly about batman so that the gotham criminals hype him up and become more scared of encountering batman... fighting batgirl is one thing, she's quipping and sassing — but spoiler is a warning. you don't want to see spoiler on shift.

i don't think she's thought about it too much to put a label on anything, but gothel's dehumanisation of rapunzel has definitely affected how rapunzel views her own self. she's more than happy to still use feminine-gendered language as a feminine-presenting person, but she doesn't understand gender roles like the rest of the world does and she doesn't necessarily consider herself fitting into any. if anything, i think she would like the label agender.

sometimes, i think about the vaults leaning into certain gender roles whilst also letting the dwellers take on whatever tasks they can to be helpful... for example, lucy's excitement to be a bride vs her dabbling in stereotypically "masculine" work such as mechanics. she might be cis, but i think she really starts to deconstruct how fluid gender can be once outside those restraints... but, in terms of her sexuality, lucy clearly does not blink about non-straight relationships. she's used to exploring sex simply as a cure for some boredom, and whether that involves a man, woman, or non-binary person doesn't bother her. i also personally headcanon that she had a crush on steph when she was younger thanks to her mommy issues.

do i think, realistically, sherry would ever choose to have kids after everything she's been through after raccoon city? no, the idea that her child might permanently have an umbrella-shaped target on their back just because of who their parents are and what they carry in their genetics upsets her so greatly that it feels like a pipe dream... am i going to give her a kid in ships anyway because she wants a family of her own so badly, and i want her to be happy even if there's following drama? yes. because i'm not writing the canon.
