   ❛ I did not expect an uninvited guest and her pets but here we are, yes? ❜ His posture, although regal and proper, was relaxed.  ❛ Mind telling me just what this something is? ❜ This was his home and if anything unfavorable had wandered in without his knowing he would seek to remove it. 

     “Nothing to worry about, it’s entirely harmless.” Two more rats crawled between her feet, noses twitching, but they didn’t go any further. Not everyone reacted well to having furry little creatures scurry through their luxurious hallways, after all. Their information was disheartening at best. “--It just took something important.”

          ❛ Here you go, dear. ❜  Fingers tear a piece off of their bread, the divinity offering it down to the curious little rat at their ankles ( — they fear none of His creatures, after all ).

     All she can really do is stare while the rat gobbles down the treat, a few more joining in quickly. It’s the first time she has seen someone so bright so close, but it’s a bit different from what she remembers. “...you’re an odd one, aren’t you?”

  “Non.” Mercier had long since gotten used to others barging into his home without a word. “& What would be the occasion, Mademoiselle?”

     “I was following something when it sneaked inside here.” One of her rats had taken over the chase as she had positioned herself in the windowsill. “I didn’t think I’d run into someone right away, though.”
