Sophomore
I thought it was a battle I could win.
Lies were easily enough said and made
As to why I did not eat with my kin
And hungry friends brought excellent aid.
It wasn’t prom season or crazy fad,
I fell slave to it—it drove me mad.
Undefeated Underweight Champion,
Turn me sideways and hardly any shade,
I was beautiful, in control, and thin.
But one day motivation started to fade.
He noticed and asked if I was eating
Just as my resolve started depleting.
It was a stint of madness I once had,
I just might return, it wasn’t half bad.
