httyd1 — two braids: a new viking thing; seen as childish, ties into how eyrie is new to this world. Sash: not a leather belt, rather a fabric; free spirited but still unusual. Not a lot of fur; fur is often worn in Viking society; shows how unprepared and unknowledgeable eyrie is about Viking life. Pouch: used to put cool things eyrie finds while wandering; wandering further supports the feeling of being out of place and how she is often in her own. Skirt: short, shows youth

rtte — braids are behind shoulders, two more braids keeping hair back: more braids = more used to the new society, and more kept under control; less “wild” and more work. Belt in place of sash: more like peers but less free-spirited; maturity more forced rather than naturally occurring. Cloak: she has begun to train as a hunter, and uses this for stealth; more forced maturity (and is also edgy). Two pouches: shows increased independence but also the possibility of isolation. Lack of fur: shows that she still feels unestablished and out of place. Skirt: still short, showing how young she is, but also more useful in combat, which she is more and more involved in.

httyd2 — hair is out and out of face: fully held back; shows how much conflict Berk is in, as hair can be a hazard in battle. Lots of leather aspects: also shows the conflict, as well as the increased attempt to fit into the majority of Berk (hardened warriors) and forced maturity. More fur: shows that she is finally coming into herself a little more; feels more established and in place. Fabric strips on cuffs: meant to resemble sash; gaining a little more free spirit. Skirt: short, mainly for battle.
