If I use a shotgun, it’s usually a peacekeeper and wingman.

My third option is to have a prowler with selectfire and either with an RE-45 or an EVA/Peacekeeper (all preferably with their respective hops.)

These are my normal choices, but I usually pay attention to what guns my teammates are using so we aren’t relying too much on the same ammo type.

Even when under the guise of safety, there were many things to be taken into consideration as they explored for loot, supplies, and clues to which area to go towards next. In honor of their mission, Pathfinder had taken it upon themselves to find a nearby signal relay and left him and the new support alone together.

Caches that have already been picked clean littered the land, cavern deep and the proximity of an imposing tower shaded the safe house they were inside of. 

If it weren’t for their careful, straight-forward tactics of maneuvering the layout of this area, they might not have been caught in this situation. It’s rare to be against a skilled sniper ( though this in itself is no reason to never be aware nor prepared. ) While their thoughts had been on keeping their tracks clean and without backpedaling--for they know of another Hunter’s skill--they were unaware of the enemy spying upon them.

Phoenix had gripped the front of Caustic’s attire rather abruptly, gloves curling around thick fabric and pulling the man out of sight of the window they were near. Not a second later was there a crack thundering through the valley, a devastating hole blasted into the opposite wall from where they stood. 

Hands rest upon Phoenix’s shoulders as Caustic narrows his eyes at him. Both of their brazen natures tended to spark discourse between them, however, this time it is Nox who is indebted to the other ( not for reasons unknown had the shot made its marks, no doubt. ) 

Their masks tap against each other softly as he heaves a breath, murmuring through the respirators as he eases the other back a step to give them distance.

“right”, wraith murmured, realizing the implications behind his logic. it was going to burn. that stuff was deadly and wraith had no intention of letting more chemicals or experimental … anything into her body. but it was this or be shot. the answer was pretty clear.

worst case scenario she just punched a hole, escaped the gas briefly, right? it wasn’t like breathing in the void was any easier.

with a deep inhale, expanding her lungs for the inevitable holding of her breath she’ll need to don this run, she tugged her scarf up over her mouth. it was far from a perfect solution, but it might be functional enough to get her out of there.

“not that i have to tell you, but don’t worry about me. drop the gas and we run.”

With only a few precious moments for them to consider their next actions, Caustic takes in a deep breath and feels the very real air that tightens his chest. This was a shot in the dark, as they say since a full squad would be eyeing them down the whole time. Even if they are hidden within colorful fumes--one gust of strong wind could be their downfall--the enemy could still spray gunfire and manage to hit them.

Fingers tap against the metal rings of his canisters, eyes were drawn down in a brief moment of introspection. Wraith already made it clear that she’s willing to take the brunt of the gas but at the same time, Caustic thinks through the possibilities of her being able to out-snipe the enemy team.

Either they work together as their team is intended to, or they drop like flies due to incompatible natures. Brows knit together in a rather upset manner, the man standing (still behind the cover) and tossing out the first canister which inflates immediately.

“As much as I would love to watch you suffer, I need you functional if we’re to continue our path to victory.” His words are punctuated by a hand coming up to unfasten the mask he wears and shoving it into the woman’s chest, letting go of it so she would either grab it or drop it. He knows his eyesight isn’t suited for scopes and she was a better shot--simple as that.
