◯ HUNTER ◯
There’s a war waging in his very being; on one hand, he was raised to kill vampires. On the other…well, she was beautiful and looked so frightened. The urge to protect her was bubbling. Nara knew little of the other, just her name, and a few other tiny details…but nothing mentioned a vampire being a hunter.
Truthfully, he shouldn’t have such disbelief etched into his features; especially considering even the Elite has not only a shape shifter among them, but an angel as well. The slayer listens to her, brow slowly furrowing, forcing himself not to be distracted by those perfect lips, and instead on the rather curious words being spewed. His dark gaze shifts past the little vampire’s shoulder then back to her face as he tried to process such bold statements. Arms folding across his chest, a sharp breath is inhaled. “You know - I find it h a r d to believe, right? Since when did vampires join us hunters?!” But he sighed, shoulders sloping slightly and lips pursed. “How do I know you aren’t just…just lying to me?” The thought was the first thing that came to his mind the moment the other began to speak. Honestly, how many of her kind lied through their damned teeth? Most of them. And yet there was still something about her that…calmed him, almost. Made the slayer keep his best defense abandoned by his foot on the ground. He wanted to give her a chance. No, he needed to.
“ They don’t-- Not usually, at least... not to you. But I swear I am a hunter! “
August moves slowly, points to a drawer across the room.
“ In there, there’s information on the locations of several pure blood covens. Distant branches, and a secondary branch of the first family tree. I know personally that there are only 6 members remaining of the primary-- and there’s more than likely information that even your archives can’t collect-- ... if you let me work with you. Please. “
This is a bold move, she’s toeing a very, very dangerous line and in anyone else’s hands she may have been reluctant-- But something about his eyes... A deep and turning emotion swirls beyond the depths, and draws August in. She sees a reflection of herself... She could lure him with vampiric power now that she has the eye contact-- but she doesn’t want to... she wants him to make the choice freely. (She wants him, very distantly, to accept her.)
“ And I wouldn’t lie to you because-- Because I want to kill their leader. “
She wets her lips, drops her gaze down his being, his standing form still braced for any attack (which she won’t provoke, she can’t). Its only mildly calming that he doesn’t have the weapon. He could overwhelm her in seconds even without one.
“ He’s my father. I want kill him...so I can be free. “
She swallows thickly, and sinks to her knees; her caution to the wind, a creak in the old floorboards, a pounding even in her cold heart. She folds her hands in her lap and glances to his eyes again.
“ If your superiors would protest-- we could keep it private. I won’t tell a soul, and you can take the credit for anything I find.
I just want an out...”
Despite everything, she smiles almost whimsically. Being in front of a camera all day does have it’s perks...she supposes. She knows how to make herself irresistible-- But is it enough?
“ So, what do you say, hunter? Tell me your name to seal the deal?”
