Here we are, us two. The only two, in the aftermath of this intergalactic battle. So long we had fought for this victory, this resolution. Bloody revolution. It’s horrid. We got what we wanted, and it is worthy of damnation. A glorious victory, and who to share it with? Who to celebrate, who to recover from this? What was the point of fighting for our people if there are no people left?

Oh, a sparring partner from training turned friend, turned cherished lover. Our smiles and laughter drowning out the sorrow of the others around us, sleepless nights forgetting the horrible things occurring, replacing them with happiness and pleasure no matter how fleeting the moments we shared.

Oh, a brave soldier from war turned injured, turned claimed. Blood is covering your beautiful self, and it’s just us two here now. You, in my arms - myself clinging to the body losing warmth. How I cry, clinging to your lost form - hunched over you, unable to yet comprehend what’s happening.
