     Ethan jumps slightly, unsure if he’s more disturbed by     the VHS tape he’d been watching, or by the kid next     to him. Surely he’s hallucinating. Probably some of      whatever the fuck that shit that Jack shoved in his     mouth before was had him all fucked up.     “ Uh, ” he doesn’t even know what to say, lamely     asking, “ what? ”

     “ Th’ fuck? ”

     What had he done in a previous life to deserve this? He’d never      understand. All he wanted was to save Mia and get the fuck out,      but it seemed like he was getting a shit ton more than he      bargained for.      He peeked around, watching Jack with baited breath. If he could      just get the upper-hand here and not get decapitated by that      fucking shovel. He was sooo sick of this shit.      Mustering up his nerve, Ethan crept forward, trying to be as quiet      as possible, handgun equipped. Oh what he wouldn’t do to find      some shotgun ammo right about now. A flamethrower would be      nice, too-- burn this motherfucker to a crisp and hope he’ll stay      dead this time.      Fuck it.      Peering around the corner, he lines up the gun, firing a handful of      shots into the back of Jack’s head before he’s taking off again to      find another place to hide out and wait to strike.

     If you’ll kindly excuse him, Ethan’ll just be over here hiding in      the corner, thanks. He doesn’t have time for this shit.      ‘Why the fuck can’t this asshole just stay dead?’
