idk man intersectionality really isnāt that hard to understand and it really seems like some of you are being willfully ignorant about it on purpose
intersectionality isnāt just combining identities together for fun itās an understanding of how different axes of oppression can intersect within a person and lead to more specific, compounded forms of bigotry and oppression
by nature it requires every aspect of an intersectional oppression to be an axis of oppression by itself
this is why transmisogyny and misogynoir and transmisogynoir are very real and ātransmisandry/transandrophobiaā is not. because being trans, being black, and being a woman are all different axes of oppression on their own, and these terms were created to discuss how those separate forms of bigotry stack and compound when someone is a member of more than one of these groups
nobody is saying that you arenāt being treated badly because youāre a trans man. nobody is saying that trans men donāt experience forms of bigotry and oppression that are specific to them. thatās not what anyone is saying. all anyone has been saying is that being a man is not an axis of oppression and you are not oppressed for the āmanā part of your identity, and therefore trying to shoehorn it into the same intersectional framework as something like transmisogyny does not work and is counterproductive
so. not to doxx myself (i've talked about this here before though) but i live in Kansas. and my license was just revoked very suddenly and immediately because i'm trans and had changed my gender marker.
so now i cannot legally drive or vote until/unless i let them force me to carry around a card that misgenders me and outs me as trans, because i certainly don't look female anymore.
so hey if you have the means and want to help with any of this, please consider donating to the ACLU of Kansas because they are at least going to try to do something to push back against this, and i'm such a panicky wreck that the only thing i can do to get through my immediate gut reaction to having my license revoked tonight (i cannot stress enough that i received the letter today saying that my license is no longer valid tomorrow) is focus on the fact that there's at least one entity trying to protect me and my fellow trans kansans.
