Step back in time and enjoy an Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebration in Auburn!
Festivities begin in Old Town Auburn with the annual pancake breakfast provided by Auburn Hook & Ladder Co. starting at 7am in the Bootlegger's Parking lot at 210 Washington St. Games start at 9am and feature: Watermelon Eating Contest, Egg Toss, Balloon Toss, 3 Legged Race, and the crowd favorite; Greased Pole Climb. We hear that The Pour Choice will be set up down there this year offering something delicious and refreshing!Â
Auburn Family 4th sponsored by the Auburn Chamber of Commerce will be offering lots of fun family activities, live entertainment, food and refreshments at the Gold Country Fairgrounds, starting at 4:30pm.
The parade starts at 7:00 at Harrison Street, and continues through Downtown Auburn ending at the Gold Country Fairgrounds at 7:40. This parade is one of Auburn's most popular yearly events, be sure not to miss out and get there early!
The grand finale is the incredible Fireworks Show at the Gold Country Fairgrounds, which starts at 9:30pm. There is no entry fee this year. The only cost is parking.

Meet Eric and Paula Peach, local freelance ceramic artists and environmental activists and educators. They have worked obstinately to protect and enhance our natural landscapes and resources, while working closely with many area schools to inspire and connect youth through art and music to the American River Canyon, and more specifically to the North and Middle Forks of the American River Watershed.Â

Paragon Ragtime Orchestra - Auburn State Theatre

Now enjoying its 32nd season, The Paragon Ragtime Orchestra (PRO) is the worldâs only year-round, professional ensemble specializing in the authentic recreation of âAmericaâs Original Musicâ â the sounds of early theater, âsilentâ cinema, and vintage dance. The program presented at the State Theatre will be "Scott Joplin and the Original Kings of Ragtime" followed by the Orchestra accompanying the Buster Keaton silent film "One Week" (1920). PRO came into being as the result of Juilliard student Rick Benjamin's 1985 discovery of thousands of historic orchestra scores of legendary Victor recording company which sparked Mr. Benjaminâs formation of PRO. In 1988 PRO made its formal debut at the Lincoln Center. Since then PRO has toured extensively across 48 States and overseas. These travels have taken the Orchestra to more than 700 performing arts centers, including the the Smithsonian Institution and Chautauqua. In 2017 the PRO had the honor of presenting the official Scott Joplin Centennial Memorial concert at the composerâs grave in Queens, New York.
