I live about a block away from the street in my town where they hold all of the parades, which has led me to be intimately familiar with the motorcycle club that shows up to every one that:
1) will stop every block to let whoever’s in front of them get a block or so ahead of them
2) loudly revv their engines while doing this
3) so they can shoot forward all cool and badass like (this is also VERY loud)
4) only to stop halfway through the next block to do it all again
On the one hand this is a very annoying assault on my ears, on the other it is legitimately funny if you think about how badass they are trying to appear versus how lame what they’re actually doing is
Also, somewhat related, I had to suppress yelling out “get your muffler checked!” at a car that drove by while I was writing this post that was also revving its engine very loudly (although at least it wasn’t stopping in front of me to do it)
Happy Independence Day! 🇺🇸
in the town where I was born, the locals had a pots and pans parade through main street at midnight on July 3rd. I lived about a mile from downtown, but the winds carried sound quite well even though I never participated. they still do that but I guess they're running low on folks who do the pots and pans part, so they had a call out for more this year.
in the town where I was born, lived a man who sailed to sea,and he lived beneath the waves,in his yellow submarine.
