& I need to know I can still make explosions.

      He was sound asleep like he usually was, dreaming about gummy bears or whatever the hell Danny dreamed about. He’d gotten into the habit of sleeping somewhat heavily now, considering that soon he’d have to get up a million times a night to feed two crying babies. Three if you counted Danny.

      Danny, being - well, Danny - took a few moments to realize what was happening. He blinked awake, frowning momentarily before he heard Mia continue to yell for him. He basically fell out to bed before running to her, stumbling on his own two feet to get to her.

      “Your - your what?! But you’re.. you’re like..” He froze to do the math in his head, and when he came to the inevitable conclusion that something was wrong, he immediately grabbed for a bag. “We’re going to the hospital. Let me grab some things and we’ll leave.” He held her by the shoulders, kissing her quickly on the forehead. “I’ll be back in one second.”

      There was nothing he could say to make the situation not what it is. A “it’ll be okay” didn’t feel right coming from his lips because he knew it might not be. He filled the bag with shit he thought they might need before grabbing her by the car and quickly leading her out the door.

      Mia cried the entire way to the hospital. She remembered how scared she was the day she had spotted--but it didn’t compared to this. NOTHING compared to this. She was only six months and she was going into labour--and it wasn’t a false  alarm.

     She couldn’t even bring herself to beg Danny to tell her it was  all going to be okay. How could she? She knew the statistics of them surviving--they hadn’t even developed lungs yet. Nothing was looking good.

     waking up in the middle of the night hungry was absolutely nothing new for mia. being pregnant with twins meant she was nearly constantly pregnant. she sighed slightly as one hand rested on her ever-growing stomach, the other on a container as she looked at it. and then, there it was--a sharp pain. 

     it felt like the air got sucked out of her lungs as she dropped what was in her hands, trying to clutch at her lower stomach. next minute--something went terribly wrong. this wasn’t supposed to happen. she was only six months pregnant, none of this was supposed to happen.
