Back Story (tw; domestic abuse, drug abuse)
everett was born in new york to an affluent family but due to her father's violent temper and an incident that ended up with her mother hospitalized. she, her mother, and younger sister all moved to california and assumed new lives with no contact with her father.
she took on the role of a caretaker very early in her life, looking after and protecting her younger sister from their parents relationship, often caring for her mother as well.
after moving to LA, with her mother having no real education or job experience everett pursued jobs in television as a teenager to help support her family and discovered her love of acting
everett became a prominent child star and as a result of early fame struggled with substance abuse as well as the 'bad influence' of hollywood.
her mother eventually married a wealthy movie executive and while that eliminated the financial stress on everett it only further advanced her career in hollywood and the issues she had involving drugs and alcohol escalated.
after hitting rock bottom following the end of the long running show that she had starred in everett decided to move out of LA to pursue a degree and escape some of the pressures of hollywood culture.
