Why do I feel this happens way to often
Something I find really annoying with representation for ace or aro characters is 1. It’s not super common and when it does happen 2. People will ignore the fact they are ace or aro to ships them with people.
I know they pull the excuse of ‘oh aro/ace people can still feel romantic/sexual attraction so it’s fine’ but that’s like saying ‘bi/pan people can still be attracted to guys/girls so it’s fine if we ship them in only heterosexual relationships’ like that’s not how it works! It’s fine if the character is under the ace or aro umbrella with an orientation like Demi where those feelings can actually grow and reasonably happen, with asexual or aromantic characters it gets really annoying!
Most people(especially when it comes to shipping)should think of being aro or ace as ‘usually doesn’t or rarely feels romantic or sexual attraction’ instead of ‘can sometimes not feel romantic or sexual attraction’
