at least thatâs what half of the village thinks. with his four arms and being a âmonsterâ, life wasnât easy in a village where words spread like fire.
since he was a kid, he tried to act like he didnât care. like he didnât need any friends even though he kept looking at the kids playing together without a care in the world, while he carried this feeling on his shoulders that he wasnât good enough to have friends.
he counted days till he was 18, finally able to move away and forget about the judging stares from elders that haunted him late at night.
at 11 he found a new place to hang out. it was by this old barn that was abandoned. he felt safe here as if no one would even dare to come here and mess with him. at least thatâs what he thought.
he was sitting on a rock, kicking some smaller ones until a group of familiar boys came up to him.
âi heard my mom saying you should move out of the village. sheâs right, youâre not doing anything good here.â the blonde haired boy spoke. sukuna knew them, theyâre always taking bad about him to others.
âhow does it feel being a monster? your parents probably donât love you as much because youâre not normal.â the second kid said while kicking a rock at ryomen. he could easily scare them off, but maybe he didnât care or was too tired. he just stared at the path in front of him, zoning out.
âhey, you freak! youâre mute suddenly? come on, you have two mouths. one of them must work, no-â the blond haired boy said before a loud but unsure âhey!â interrupted them.
everyoneâs gaze immediately focused on you. you walked up closer, suddenly impressed at your own confidence before saying âleave him alone, youâre not funny.â
the two boys bothering sukuna looked at each other and let out a scoff before mumbling something about next time.
sukuna looked at you amused, like he couldnât quite believe someone stood up for him. âwhat are you doing?â he muttered.
you suddenly felt shy, you werenât the confident type but something about the boys picking on him made you feel anger. âsorry, i just.. didnât want them to bother you.â
he studied you for a second and looked away. âi do not need your help..â he said, obviously his ego too big to admit it. â..but i must thank you.â
you looked up at him and saw the faint blush on his cheeks. âno problem, sukuna, yes?â he nodded and turned his gaze towards you. âindeed. you are the girl that just moved in, i suppose?â
your eyes sparked up âeh? how did you know?â you looked at him confused as you sat down in front of him.
he looked at the sky and said âintuition.â while feeling guilty because you were talking to him. and the words would spread through the village that you were hanging out with the monster.
after all the judging stares, gossip, false accusations all pointed at you, it didnât seem to bother you.
sukuna was more than people assumed. he seemed cold but he in fact also does have a heart and a brain.
you two were inseparable now. after years of hanging out you and ryomen had a bond that nobody could break. even your parents that highly disapproved of your relationship with him.
you both were 16 now. both of you slowly matured but your relationship didnât change. it may be even stronger. you always showed up for sukuna, talked with him and saw past his tough facade. and if anybody picked on you for liking him? he made sure they wouldnât even dare to bother you again.
one night, you decided to take a walk on the outskirts of the village. it was peaceful and quiet. the air was fresh, autumn just begun and all the trees were losing their leaves.
sukuna didnât notice you at first, too busy on carrying his bag but your voice broke the silence. âsukuna? where are you going?â you asked.
he froze. he actually froze for a few seconds as if doing something illegal. then he turned around and said âi apologize y/n but.. i must leave this town.â
you wanted to laugh in his face. he wanted to leave? alone? at sixteen? leaving you behind? leaving every single moment in the past? âno youâre not.â you protested as your eyes were becoming glassy.
he took a step forward, to get closer to you. he gently lifted his hand and caressed your soft cheek with the back of his rough hand. âyes, i am. i apologize but.. there is no other option than escaping this. i donât belong here. i am a burden to others and i donât wanna keep hurting you. you should have the right to have other friends and not being left out because you like me.â
he tried to explain his position but in your head he was crazy. you explained this a thousand times to him. no matter what, you would rather be by his side all the time than find some other shitty friend who wouldnât understand you just as he does.
you were now full on sobbing, head buried in his chest. this was some sick dream, right? he was just playing with you. this was a joke and he will laugh and-
âiâm leaving with you.â the words came out unexpectedly. but you meant them. his hands dropped from your side immediately but you were already running back home, ignoring him yelling at you.
as soon as you got back home you gathered all your most important things ready to drop everything behind you for him. you left a note for your parents ensuring them that you would be safe and happy with your new life so they wouldnât worry. but you didnât mention that you were leaving with sukuna, that would leave them furious.
and after a few hours of walking, you were asleep in his lap. the moonlight fell on your face every once in a while as the train moved fast. sukuna looked at you, before lifting his hand up and caressing your forehead gently. he made a promise that night.
he promised himself that he would give you everything you wanted. the life you deserved. he would treat you like a queen so you wouldnât have to worry about anything. no matter what it takes, you deserve better.
he needed to repay you, the angel in disguise for always being by his side. you literally dropped everything in one night for him. that kind of trust and loyalty made him fall in love all over again with you.
both of you left the terrible past that night, opening a new path for the future with each other. where a single worry couldnât reach you.
an: sigh, what do we think lmk
