Exes And No’s

Do not be afraid to speak your mind in a relationship. If you let somebody walk all over you (even once) they won’t stop. Let your friend or S/O know when they hurt you! Let them know if they said something rude! If they don’t like it, then find somebody else who will!

Don’t befriend your exes after a nasty breakup. It never ends well.

That’s a really hard place to be in. My aunt was in the sort of the same situation with her boyfriend where he would follow her around in his car when she went to work and if she wanted to even go to her sister’s house he would have to drive her there and if she didn’t want him to stay with her he would wait in his car down the street, watching the house. It sounds like your friend’s situation is a little more toned down, but it took my aunt the better part of eight years to realize she needed out. There’s no easy way to maneuver situations like this, it’s going to take a lot of patience. The best advice I can give is to keep talking to your friend about him. Don’t overwhelm her with it, because you might end up losing her but if you see him doing something bad, point it out to her. Make sure you try to do this while her s/o is out of earshot because I’ve come across situations where the s/o will cut things off completely with people who try to give the other person an out or reason to leave. Just let your friend know you care about her and offer your support. 

No matter how tempting sexting may be, just don’t. Who knows? Maybe your special someone posts those naughty texts or nudes to their private twitter ‘for later’. No one wants their junk or saucy texts on twitter.

Block your exes number to save you the angsty texts proclaiming love. Maybe consider blocking their email, too. 

No matter how long you’ve been with your s/o, you don’t owe them anything. You can still break things off three years in as you could three days in if you aren’t happy.

If that special person in your life doesn’t care about their own well being, they don’t care about yours.
