The New Year | Bom & Tablo
In the past months, Bom had grown quite fond of her new life her on the island together with Tablo. Both of them had worked hard to make the cottages better to live in again and between all the hard work they, of course, took some time to do some fun things and ever since Bom was together with Tablo time seemed to pass by more quickly than it had done. Before she full and well knew it, it was already time to celebrate the arrival of the new year and she was more than happy about it that she could celebrate it with her boyfriend in private. Even though they both have had enough private time already, given the fact that they were completely alone on an island, Bom still found it very nice to be able to spend New Yearâs Eve alone with him. Having prepared a delicious meal for them to celebrate it, she too gave him a couple of presents. Happy to see how he liked her presents she then was a little bit surprised when he told her that she still had to wait a bit longer for her surprise. Finding it a bit sad that she wasnât able to receive any present that day, she didnât really think further about it though and just enjoyed the rest of the day with Tablo.
When Tablo asked her later that evening if she wanted to go for a walk before they would go to bed, something which they tented to do from time to time, Bom easily agreed. After having put on her white coat and her boots, she was ready to enjoy a nice evening walk with her boyfriend. Walking hand in hand with him through the snow she talked with him about the idea of her family visiting them. Being excited about seeing them once more she told Tablo that sheâd discuss it with them too and then would let him know a date for when they could come and visit them and spend a nice vacation on the island. Already looking forward to seeing her grandmother and father again and introducing both of them to Tablo, she didnât notice how Tablo wasnât exactly going into the direction they usually went for their ânight walksâ. It was only when they left the forest and she could see a new cottage standing on a cliff near the sea that she realised that they had been walking into a completely different direction.
Staring at the cottage for a moment in surprise, Bom first didnât get the purpose of it. When her boyfriend gave her hand a soft squeeze and started to talk, however, she glanced up at him right on time to receive the peck on her lips after which she grinned totally excited and caring up at him as he continued talking. âOh my God! Tablo!â She gasped, lifting up her other hand so she could hide her wide grin behind it she turned her gaze back to the cottage. Breathing out a happy, warm but short laughter then as she took in the beautiful looking cottage with the garden she dropped her hand from her mouth in order to speak. âIt looks wonderful!â She exclaimed as she turned her body towards him then so she could hug him. âThank you, darling. I love it!â Hugging him tightly she then gave him a good long loving kiss to thank him for the present after which she quickly took hold of his hand once more so they could get inside of the cottage being totally excited about it to see it from the inside.
Getting inside of their cottage Bom left out a couple of sounds in mingled joy, excitement and amazement as she slowly went through the cottage so she could see every single thing which stood inside of it. Touching every single thing that stood inside of it, she told him how she loved it over and over again and even asked him if he had made the wooden furniture himself. When he told her he did, she just had to go over to him once more to hug and kiss him. âThank you so much, darling! Iâm so happy we finally have a place for our own.â Smiling happily and grateful up at him, and also radiating those two emotions and love towards him, Bom realized well enough how much work Tablo had put into all of this and she couldnât help but feel giddy about it.
Tablo smiled widely when Bom responded to his present with the enthusiasm she did. Grinning at her lightly, he didn't hesitate in the least to kiss her back when she kissed him, only to be pulled along towards the cottage so she could check it out just moments later. Without a single hesitation he followed her, walking along with her towards the place and letting her open up the door and get inside. Letting his eyes wander over the inside - which he had looked at a lot of times in the past few months - he couldn't help but still feel content and proud of the final result. It had taken him a lot of work to make the cottage from as good as scratch and he had loved every minute of it; the working until he stood covered in sweat keeping his mind off of the usual wandering it tended to do when he couldn't sleep. And because of all the work he'd been putting into this cottage, his sleeping schedule had gotten more and more normal again, until he'd had to force himself to stay up to finish the last few details of the cottage, just because his body was tired every day when they had parted ways to go sleep. Now, that parting of ways wouldn't happen anymore and they could simply go to sleep in the same room. Or well; a separate one if she wanted that. He'd made a bed for the second room as well - a one person bed. The room closest to the bathroom held the queen sized bed and the wardrobe he'd made for them from wood. The table and chairs in the living room/kitchen were handmade as well. The kitchen was built from the machinery available, as well as the bathroom and the sofa - although he had to admit he'd gone scurrying in other deteriorated, unused cottages to find the best quality for their home.
Letting Bom look around, he answered truthfully when she questioned him about the furniture, stating he'd made it himself. Letting her take it all in, Tablo easily walked up to the fireplace he'd built into their cottage himself, going to warm his hands at the fire and throwing another log on the fire, because it hadn't been fed wood in a little while. The fireplace and the wardrobe were the only additions to their cottage that other people's cottages didn't have, two little additions he'd made for their comfort. The wardrobe because they would be sleeping in one room so they'd be stocking all their clothes in the one piece of furniture instead of each one their own, and the fireplace because they were going to be staying here and there was a big chance the electricity would fail them more often, so at least now they'd be able to still keep warm and have some semblance of light while the failure of their living place kept on. Turning around then after feeding the fire, Tablo glanced over at Bom, the warm smile reappearing on his face instantly. "I'm glad you like it, darling. I suggest we bring our stuff here tomorrow, but we can already spend the night here if you'd like. You want something to drink?" And with those words he headed to the fridge, to open it up and show her the things he'd already stocked in it, while at the same time getting out a bottle of bubbles for them to drink to celebrate the evening some more.
