“I’m not worried about the club, darling. I’m worried that the humans might discover what we are or that Lucas might lose control” Lila said taking her husband’s hand. “It would come in handy to have such an ability at the moment” Even though it would definitely have come in handy to have a lie detector gift Lila was happy that he was not one of the gifted vampires. It seemed like they never got a break, that someone or something was always after them.

 “We could keep them on the lower floors, while our family stays on the upper. I’d buy the apartments next to us, but even though we are immortal-- trying to blend in-- money is still a factor. If immortality came with an unlimited supply, that would be helpful.” He paused for a moment before continuing. “Mmm....” He hummed quietly to himself for a short moment trying to think of what to do with Lucas. “Could have him in lock down until he gains control. But I do not want to be so harsh on the boy.”

“I guess it was yes. I just stopped by in Canada. I have a friend there, he recently had a run in with the Volturi, I just wanted to make sure he was okay” James didn’t know if that was possibly too much information for someone he just met. But Merrick said that this man was trustworthy and a very good man and talking about Jay kept him from talking about himself and Ivan. Even if he was currently finding ways to avoid it he knew that eventually he would have to talk about it whether he wanted to or not. “Merrick told me you run a club with your wife, is it the burlesque club downstairs?”

   Ewan had been expecting James for a short while now, he had been told by his friend Merrick in England that one of his coven members was going to stop by and possibly even stay for a while to allow his head to clear out from some fighting that has been going on between him and his creator. Unaware of how stable James would be around humans, Ewan and Lila had closed down the club for the day just to make sure that no accidents happened, while they tried their best to blend in.  With Holly at school and Luke out doing God knows what-- he eventually heard a knock at the apartment door. Ewan got up from the couch and made his way over towards the front door and opened it. “-- Ah, James. Welcome. I am Ewan. I hope yer journey to the states has been smooth.”

“Ha ha ha, that’s funny, really. Me? In a church? But really, do you guys meet up Wednesday night for board games and romcoms? And on that note..Why does it matter who I kill? It’s not like the humans can do anything about it.”

 “No, we don’t But I don’t know. Just try and  live yer life the way that ye would have when  you were- for lack of a better word- Alive.And  also; one. We do not want the Volturi after us.  And two. It could very well expose us in a light  that we do not wish to be seen.”

“Business is picking up, I assume people are finally starting to realize the difference between a burlesque club and a strip club” Lila said still in a bit of a bad mood after the incredibly rude costumer she had to deal with earlier. “Are you sure renting out the extra apartments is a good idea?” she asked before sitting down on his desk. “Not that I mind, but how do we know the people are trustworthy and won’t ruin what took us so much time to build up?”

  Ewan pursed his lips together and pondered on the question, taking a glance out to the window beside his desk before looking back to his wife. “We could do interviews or something of the sort. Make sure that they seem like trust worthy people. Besides. The doors to the club will be locked and have alarms on them at night.” He then unfolded his arms and reached out with his right hand to Lila’s hand. “Neither of us exactly have an ability to detect lies. But like I said. It’d be a trust factor. Not entirely sure if we could keep Lucas under house control... Seems to have a mind of his own. And an appetite to match.”
