This post is a little different.

As some of you know, I had to step away from AO3 for a while because I was sick and needed brain surgery.

Yesterday, September 28th, is World Arnold Chiari Malformation Awareness Day.

Chiari is a rare neurological condition that can cause severe headaches, balance issues, difficulty swallowing, and many other symptoms. It’s not well known, but it affects thousands of people worldwide — and I am one of them.

I also want to share something personal: all of my characters are, in some way, my mirror. They reflect my past, my struggles, and my pain. I write about trauma, loneliness, and obsession because I’ve lived in those shadows too.

But the most important thing is this: none of us should go through it alone. We all carry trauma and psychological battles in different ways.
