Ohhhhh yea I made this tonight. Pan fried Chicken breast in EVOO.. Sweet potato, mushrooms, brussell sprouts sauteed with a little natural butter and EVOO. I also used sea salt and pepper.

It was a 12 session Groupon that got me started. That and the need to strengthen my core to help stop the weakening and pain in my back. I didn't know what to expect I just knew I had to start somewhere. My first bootcamp was tough. I was in pain for 3 days after. Every muscle ached and I could barely move. I almost didn't return. But I forced myself to go back and I'm grateful that I did. Each workout got better but I won't lie they did not get any easier. Sheldon pushed me, he pushed all of us. He made you want to push yourself until your muscles were shaking and begging for forgiveness. Without realizing it I found I was challenging myself to do more at each bootcamp. Sheldon's encouragement and old school training techniques were exactly what I needed. I felt comfortable and confident that I could complete each workout. I started out having no other wants except to strengthen my core and tone up. I had no expectations to lose weight or to lose inches. I was told that at my age, being menopausal and after 3 abdominal surgeries my body and weight will not be easy to change and I shouldn't get my hopes up. So I started out at 165 pounds, with no waistline and so much abdominal scarring that I had no hopes of ever having a flat stomach again. Today I'm weighing in at 159 pounds. I've lost inches everywhere. My arms and legs are toned, my butt has firmed and lifted and I have a waistline again. I'm no longer afraid of being seen in a bathing suit. But the best part of all and where I am the most proud of myself is that at the age of 48 I completed my first, but not my last, Spartan 5k run. Sheldon and his bootcamp programs have given me back a body and athleticism I didn't know I had in me anymore. You inspire me Jean!! Don't ever let someone tell you you can't achieve your goals, strengthen Your body. Don't feel trapped in your body. Put the work in and you'll feel just like Jean!!
This phrase has so many meanings to me... Do you know that you don't begin to build strength until and after it begins to hurt. Don't stop when you kinda feel it, stop when your set is done or until you can no longer lift that weight. Runners As a runner I learned very early that being tired isn't a reason to stop. You dig deep and find that other gear, that extra energy, and you don't stop until you have crossed that finish line, reached your destination or completed your goal finishing time. Building Muscle To build muscle you have to get comfortable with failing every workout. Yea... You gotta fail to succeed. If you are completing every set and every rep every time you lift, you are doing something wrong. Depending on your routine, use a weight that you know will be difficult... A weight that makes you pause and think twice. Be safe, but be courageous! Build that muscle, look and feel great too!

So this awesome lady, Sherry Kimmerly, won the Kick Ass Workout award tonight. I'm so proud of you! I'll just brag a little bit on your behalf Sherry.... Hey everyone, when she first started she couldn't even do a half push up because of lack of strength and shoulder problems. Tonight she did 33 full pushups in 1 minute, 61 tuck jumps in 1 min and 29 half squats holding 30 lbs in 1 min. Absolutely awesome!
Carmelo is beastin! We just got to tighten up the form a bit.. but dude... you're straight beastin!
