what the fuck kind of take is this?? first of all, the show exists to entertain so go ahead and jot that down. it failed at that when it decided to center robby’s endless self-flaggeltion at the expense of every character and storyline around him. each week is an hour in the torment nexus. if i wanted that, i’d hang out with my father.
secondly: when it decided to position itself as some sort of love letter to health care workers devoted to realism and accuracy, it invited closer examination of that portrayal. so when women of color who are actual health care workers speak up about how the show has been hurtful, dismissive, and sidelining them… maybe listen?
lastly: the pitt doesn’t exist in a vacuum. the way the producers treat the women of color on their cast as expendable, interchangeable, and unimportant matters. they wrote heather off in the laziest way possible, throwing any sense of realism out the window. and they’re doing it again with samira and victoria. isn’t it amazing how that level of accurate portrayal doesn’t apply to frank or dennis????
if you truly believe there’s nothing wrong with how they’ve treated the women of color in the cast, ESPECIALLY after the fuckery they pulled with supriya, you’re a fucking idiot. not only do you lack any semblance of complex thought processes but you’re also missing basic empathy (who does that sound like).
countless women of color have spoken up, explaining why these choices hurt and how it makes them feel. yet you’re making an active choice to remain ignorant because your feelings might get hurt. you’d rather ride some guy’s dick instead of examine your own biases. it’s revolting.
